About The Position

The Senior Director, Platform Architecture owns the end-to-end technical architecture for the Agentic Service Catalog. You are responsible for ensuring that the platform operates as one secure, scalable, governable, and maintainable system even though its capabilities, data, workflows, integrations, and AI services are supplied by many teams. You will define the contracts that make the federated model work: APIs, workflows, events, schemas, integration boundaries, identity, policy, approvals, evidence, observability, versioning, compatibility, and ownership boundaries. This is a hands-on engaged manager architecture role, not an architecture-review-only position. You will develop APIs and AI capabilities, build reference implementations, review critical code, solve complex integration problems, and coordinate technical direction across the teams contributing to the Service Catalog. This job reports to the Vice President Intelligent Automation and Data Platforms Target-State Architecture Manage and evolve the target-state architecture for the Agentic Service Catalog and its supporting workflow, control, and knowledge capabilities. Establish how the platform integrates with service management, source control, CI/CD, cloud, observability, security, network, data platforms, identity, and other enterprise systems. Ensure enterprise systems remain while the Service Catalog assembles usable context and governed workflows around them. API, Workflow, Event & Data Contracts You will define standards for APIs, events, workflow interfaces, schemas, errors, idempotency, retries, compensation, observability, versioning, and compatibility. You will establish the technical contract for every reusable capability contributed to the Service Catalog. Design stable interfaces that allow domain-owned capabilities to evolve without breaking user journeys or long-running workflows. Ensure critical interfaces are typed, versioned, testable, observable, and connected to a named owner and support model. Governance & Control-Plane Architecture Design runtime policy gates for sensitive and production-affecting activities and ensure side effects occur only through governed execution paths. Ensure actions are attributable to an authenticated principal, registered capability, policy decision, approval state, execution record, and evidence package. AI & Agent Architecture Establish clear separation between AI reasoning and durable workflow execution so model behavior never becomes the accidental source of execution truth. Ensure AI agents work with enterprise systems through registered, typed, policy-aware service interfaces rather than direct database access or broad credentials. Establish patterns for tool access, grounded context, retrieval, memory, policy enforcement, evaluation, evidence capture, human approval, replay, operational monitoring, and kill switches. Hands-On Engineering & Reference Implementation Build reference implementations that demonstrate approved patterns for capability registration, policy enforcement, workflow execution, evidence generation, enterprise integration, and AI/tool invocation. Perform technical spikes and proofs of concept for high-risk or uncertain architectural decisions. Cross-Team Technical Leadership Coordinate technical direction across Service Catalog engineering, delivery teams, domain capability providers, enterprise architecture, Security, Risk, AI Platform, ITSM, Cloud, Data, Network, and infrastructure teams. Define what the central platform owns, what capability providers own, and what service teams continue to oversee. Create architecture review and exception processes that protect the platform without becoming delivery bottlenecks. Mentor engineers and architects and raise technical capability across contributing teams.
