About The Position

Pindrop is seeking a Senior Director, People Operations to build and lead the HR Operations function. This is a critical 'builder' role responsible for establishing the operational backbone to support the company's rapid growth. The ideal candidate will own the full scope of people operations infrastructure, including HRIS (UKG Ready implementation and optimization), payroll, domestic and international benefits, immigration, compliance, audits, and standard operating procedures. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability while partnering effectively with Finance, Legal, and IT.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive HR Operations experience.
  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role at a scaling technology company.
  • Deep, hands-on HRIS expertise; UKG Ready experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ownership of payroll, multi-state compliance, and benefits administration (including international benefits and 401k plan administration).
  • Direct experience managing immigration programs (H-1B, green card sponsorships) in partnership with outside counsel.
  • Experience managing external audits (401k, customer compliance audits, state/federal regulatory filings).
  • Track record of building compliance training programs.
  • Exceptional cross-functional partnership skills with Finance, Legal, and IT.
  • Strong SOPs discipline; ability to build documentation that outlasts the creator.
  • Operational mindset focused on balancing accuracy and urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, documentation, and maintenance of comprehensive SOPs for all HR Operations processes.
  • Build a scalable process infrastructure that can withstand personnel changes and headcount growth.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual work, eliminate error risk, and achieve operational excellence.
  • Automate HR processes and manage the intersection of HR technology and HR process.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll data, headcount reporting, and benefits costs.
  • Collaborate with Legal on employment matters, immigration filings, compliance, and HR-related risk.
  • Work with IT and Security on system access, data governance, and HR systems integration.
  • Partner with the HRBP team to ensure operational processes support the employee experience.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for HR and people operations documentation during customer and investor due diligence.
  • Lead the ongoing optimization of UKG Ready, including module configuration, workflow builds, system integrations, and self-service functionality.
  • Serve as the internal SME and escalation point for all UKG-related questions, issues, and enhancements.
  • Build and maintain system integrations between UKG and downstream tools (payroll, benefits carriers, finance systems).
  • Own data integrity within HRIS, including audits, error correction, quality controls, and reporting accuracy.
  • Design and deliver training on HRIS self-service functionality to managers and employees.
  • Partner with AI Leaders to build AI-enabled self-service agents and automations.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive dashboard and system reporting suite for people data.
  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process (domestic and international) with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ensure payroll is fully integrated with HRIS, benefits, and Finance reporting.
  • Build and maintain scalable payroll SOPs.
  • Manage the operational execution of merit and incentive cycles.
  • Own the full benefits program, including vendor selection, renewal, employee communication, and administration.
  • Manage international benefits programs globally, ensuring compliance and competitive positioning.
  • Lead the annual benefits renewal process, including benchmarking, carrier negotiations, and cost modeling.
  • Own 401k plan administration and the annual 401k audit.
  • Build a total rewards communication strategy to enhance employee understanding of compensation and benefits value.
  • Own all state and federal HR compliance oversight, including multi-state employment law, annual filings, EEO-1, VETS-4212, and ACA reporting.
  • Oversee immigration processes (H-1B, L-1, green card sponsorships) in partnership with immigration counsel.
  • Own customer compliance audits, preparing required HR documentation.
  • Manage benefit audits, including the annual 401k audit.
  • Oversee the design and deployment of company-wide compliance training.
  • Build and maintain an HR compliance calendar.
  • Direct the strategy, compliance, and SLA performance of pre-employment operations (background checks, onboarding workflows).
  • Lead, develop, and grow the HR Operations team.
