About The Position

The Executive Director of Payer Contracting is responsible for the development, negotiation, execution, and ongoing management of all payer agreements (commercial, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid Managed Care, and other third-party payers) for the health system. This strategic leader will ensure contracts are financially sound, aligned with organizational goals, and support growth in both fee-for-service and value-based payment models. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.

Requirements

  • A college degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Finance or Accounting required; Master’s preferred.
  • 5 years progressively responsible managed care contracting experience required.
  • Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with hospitals, physicians, critical access, rural health clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and ancillary reimbursement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale payer relationships and lead complex contract negotiations.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Experience negotiating value-based quality and total cost of care agreements.
