About The Position

G42 Americas is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director, Operations & Maintenance to lead strategy, operations, reliability, and maintenance for its growing cloud, AI, and data center infrastructure portfolio. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, this role ensures strong operational performance across data center facilities, AI/GPU infrastructure, cloud operations, security, compliance, commissioning, and service reliability.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in hyperscale cloud and data center operations, including leadership of large-scale global infrastructure environments supporting mission-critical workloads. The role will help scale G42 Americas' AI infrastructure footprint while maintaining high standards of operational excellence, availability, security, and efficiency.

Requirements

• 20 or more years of experience in data center operations, cloud infrastructure, operations management, or related technology leadership roles.
• Proven leadership experience within hyperscale technology organizations.
• Demonstrated success managing global data center and cloud operations environments.
• Experience supporting AI infrastructure, GPU-based platforms, HPC environments, or large-scale compute operations.
• Strong background in operations, reliability engineering, maintenance, commissioning, security, and compliance.
• Experience building and leading distributed global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end operations and maintenance of G42 Americas' cloud, AI, and data center infrastructure.
• Develop and execute operational strategies to support business growth, service reliability, and infrastructure scalability.
• Establish operational governance, performance standards, and service excellence frameworks.
• Drive operational readiness for new facilities, AI clusters, and cloud infrastructure deployments.
• Oversee operations and maintenance of hyperscale data centers, AI/GPU clusters, and critical infrastructure systems.
• Ensure performance, availability, capacity utilization, and resilience across facilities.
• Lead data center commissioning, operational acceptance, and transition processes for new sites and expansions.
• Manage critical incident response, root cause analysis, and service restoration.
• Support operations and lifecycle management of large-scale AI infrastructure platforms.
• Drive operational best practices for HPC, GPU clusters, and next-generation AI workloads.
• Partner with engineering and platform teams to maintain infrastructure availability and service reliability.
• Establish operational security and compliance programs and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal governance frameworks.
• Lead risk mitigation, business continuity planning, disaster recovery preparedness, and operational resilience programs.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to maintain a secure operating environment.
• Lead geographically distributed operational teams supporting multiple regions and time zones.
• Build and scale high-performing operations, facilities, and support organizations.
• Drive KPI accountability for service availability, incident management, maintenance performance, energy efficiency, and customer experience.
• Champion operational excellence through automation, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
• Implement best practices from hyperscale cloud and data center environments.
• Use metrics, analytics, and operational insights to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
• Foster accountability, innovation, and operational discipline.
• Advise executive leadership on infrastructure operations, capacity planning, and operational risks.
• Partner with engineering, product, security, procurement, facilities, and external vendors to deliver operational objectives.
• Provide executive-level reporting on operational health, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.
