About The Position

The Senior Director of FP&A is a key member of the McKesson Medical-Surgical Finance organization. The role will focus on business partnerships with members of the overall organization to assist in meeting organizational and financial goals, evolve metrics and reporting to manage the company’s financial health, and oversee all end-to-end financial processes including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow consolidations, planning, and analysis. The role ensures that strategies are appropriately reflected in company budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning and most importantly, provide value-added analysis and insights which drive sound decision-making.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).
  • 13+ years of successful progressive Finance experience required
  • Minimum of 6+ years supervisory experience required
  • Ability to influence and partner effectively with Executive-level Leaders across the organization
  • Firm grasp of corporate finance concepts, practices, and tools
  • Experience leading OR managing budget/forecast for both P&L and Balance Sheet/Cash Flow
  • Excellent business-savvy with a consultative approach; ability to influence and collaborate with senior level leaders across organizational lines.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage, triage, and prioritize multiple priorities from different stakeholders.
  • Ability to problem solve independently.
  • Ability to respond to changing environment, agility in mindset and approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable developing clear and insightful presentations and speaking in front of the general company and executive leadership.
  • Willing to challenge common assumptions.
  • Eager to pitch in and assist as necessary to help the team accomplish functional and corporate goals.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or equivalent work experience required

Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial planning (budget, forecast, long range plan) process for all functional areas.
  • Provide strategic decision support, scenario planning and identify key drivers, risks, opportunities and plans for potential mitigation.
  • Build strong relationships and become a trusted advisor with functional business partners throughout the organization.
  • Support the teams to define and execute against short-term and long-term goals.
  • Provide actual to budget/forecast reporting, dashboards, and variance analyses to business partners to enable decision making and alignment to achieving company objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to prepare QBR, Board and other investor related materials and presentations.
  • Analyze and present complex financial information in simple terms, presenting conclusions and recommendations to business leaders.
  • Develop, scale, and improve financial models, processes, and other key analytics.
  • Provide business support to the other FP&A teams to help create transparency of key assumptions in critical business areas.
  • Collaborate and work with accounting group and create a synergized partnership to ensure month-end close and accurate accounting for all areas of the business.
  • Support broader organization through ad hoc projects and analysis and provide insightful analytics to highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Manage a team; Cultivating high performance teams and facilitating career development while leading is a must.
