Position Summary The Senior Director of Strategic Business Development will be responsible for leading the execution of large-scale strategic business development initiatives and pipeline that support the firm’s long-term growth. This role will drive end-to-end sales program management, from planning to post-implementation evaluation, ensuring key growth opportunities an enacted—including new market entry, strategic alliances, major client expansions, and cross-practice initiatives—are successfully executed. The ideal candidate is an experienced sales or business development leader with a sprinkling of operations ensuring a strong track record in business development execution within a professional services or law firm environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, strategy, law, or related field required
  • 10-15+ years of experience in sales, strategic planning, program management, or business development, preferably in a professional services firm.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement complex, high-stakes business programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities to support planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage firmwide strategic product/business development programs that yield proven sales results.
  • Translate high-level strategic plans into actionable implementation plans with timelines and deliverables.
  • Once approved, coordinate with the initiative Driver/Champion (Attorney) along with leadership, attorneys, and department leads to execution of business initiatives.
  • Manage strategy and research, integration planning, and execution of strategic alliances, partnerships, and market expansion efforts.
  • Establish KPI’s/performance metrics and success criteria for each program/initiative and provide ongoing reporting to leadership on progress.
