Responsible for overseeing and directing strategic planning for large and highly complex Quality teams; ensuring quality and compliance for applicable products and processes for assigned departments. This role involves providing leadership and expertise in the development of strategy for applicable organizations, motivating and engaging others around team vision, and managing teams to ensure execution. The Senior Director will direct and lead teams in the development of product specifications for all Medline branded products, and provide assistance, support, and expertise to suppliers, manufacturing partners, and product managers in developing and implementing QA programs. They will advise leadership to ensure QSR for assigned departments are in compliance as measured by FDA/ISO/internal audits, and act as a liaison with Executive Leadership of Divisions, Suppliers, Manufacturing, and/or Operations to ensure quality products, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. The position also involves designing, implementing, and overseeing the Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS) across the organization, owning and governing key quality system processes (CAPA, Document Control, Change Control, Management Review, Field Alert Reporting, and Recall Management), ensuring effective and timely CAPA execution, and serving as the organization's CAPA subject matter expert. Additionally, the role ensures proper reporting, investigation, escalation, and closure of Field Alert Reports in accordance with regulatory requirements, and establishes and maintains an effective training program to ensure personnel competency and compliance across the Pharmaceutical Quality Organization (PQO). The Senior Director will partner with Medline Corporate and Division Quality leaders to ensure complaint handling processes effectively support pharmaceutical operations and regulatory requirements. Management responsibilities include typically managing through multiple Managers, providing leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department with system-wide accountability, strategic, tactical, and operational planning (12+ months) for the function or department, direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions, or major projects/programs, interpreting and executing policies for departments/projects, recommending and implementing new policies or modifications, and all aspects of staff management including hiring, pay increases, performance reviews, training, development, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
