About The Position

GEICO is undergoing an exciting transformation into a product and tech-powered company and is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management, Platform and Infrastructure Services. This role will define and drive the enterprise product strategy for Platform & Infrastructure Services across GEICO, encompassing IaaS, hybrid cloud, data center engineering, and network platforms. The leader will translate enterprise priorities such as platform adoption, reliability, cost efficiency, and developer productivity into a cohesive product strategy for a wide range of foundational services, including compute, databases, messaging, storage, document platforms, hybrid cloud, identity and access, networking, and developer platforms. The position involves bridging product, platform engineering, SRE, and business teams to drive a unified roadmap for PaaS and Infrastructure, ensuring platforms are highly available, secure, and compliant, infrastructure is cost-efficient and optimized through FinOps, developers can increasingly self-serve via platform capabilities and paved roads, and platform service adoption scales through a forward-deployed engineering model. The preferred locations for this role are Seattle and Palo Alto.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in product management leadership for platforms, infrastructure, or cloud services
  • Experience owning large-scale platform portfolios (PaaS, IaaS, or hybrid cloud)
  • Proven success in driving platform adoption and developer experience at scale
  • Strong understanding of Cloud platforms (Azure, hybrid cloud environments)
  • Strong understanding of Platform engineering (paved roads, self-service platforms, control planes)
  • Strong understanding of Distributed systems (databases, messaging, storage, APIs)
  • Experience driving cost optimization / FinOps initiatives at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to influence in complex, matrixed organizations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building internal developer platforms (IDP) or unified control planes
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled developer workflows and platform automation
  • Background in infrastructure modernization (hybrid cloud, private cloud, DC transformation)
  • Experience scaling enterprise SaaS-like platforms internally

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a multi-year product vision across Platform and Infrastructure domains, including Platform services (compute, databases, messaging, storage, API management, document platforms) and Infrastructure services (hybrid cloud, private cloud, network, identity, data center engineering).
  • Drive a “platform-first” strategy focused on adoption and reuse, ensuring GEICO workloads run on standardized, enterprise-grade platforms rather than bespoke infrastructure.
  • Align strategy to enterprise priorities: Cost-to-serve reduction via cloud optimization, repatriation, and FinOps; Platform reliability and operational excellence (availability, MTTx, incident reduction); Developer productivity through self-service platforms and paved roads.
  • Own and drive a cross-platform product roadmap spanning Unified Control Plane, Core services (databases, messaging, caching, storage, API management, workflows), Document and workflow platforms, AI-native developer experiences, Hybrid cloud platforms and private cloud capacity expansion, Infra modernization, Identity, certificate, and security infrastructure, and Data center lifecycle.
  • Ensure roadmap prioritization is adoption-driven, cost-informed, and reliability-aware.
  • Drive adoption of platform services through a forward-deployed engineering model and standardized “paved road” experiences.
  • Provide a unified developer experience via a single control plane interface for all services.
  • Lead platform-level FinOps strategy across PaaS and Infrastructure, driving cost and utilization optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with FinOps & engineering to build cost insights and attribution models.
  • Ensure cost efficiency scales alongside platform adoption.
  • Ensure platforms meet enterprise standards for availability, resilience, operational excellence, security, compliance, and vulnerability management.
  • Drive production readiness across hybrid cloud platforms.
  • Act as the central product leader across Platform & Infra portfolios, driving alignment across platform engineering, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity, SRE, developer experience, finance, and business/application teams.
  • Ensure clear prioritization of platform investments, alignment on cost, reliability, and adoption goals, and visibility into roadmap status, risks, and dependencies.
