About The Position

VITAS Healthcare Corporation is seeking a Senior Director of Procurement to lead enterprise procurement strategy across clinical and non-clinical spending, optimizing cost, quality, and patient care. This role involves ensuring procurement governance, advising leadership on sourcing and cost-containment, overseeing supplier performance, and partnering cross-functionally to align procurement with care delivery and financial goals. The position requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in procurement, sourcing, and supply chain management, capable of driving cost savings and value while ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain leadership
  • Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management
  • Proven track record of driving cost savings and value across clinical and non-clinical categories
  • Experience working with GPOs, healthcare suppliers, and regulatory environments preferred
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university (or international equivalent)

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Relevant certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or CSCP or Lean Six Sigma a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compliance standards, and best-in-class sourcing practices.
  • Lead enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives to reduce total cost of ownership, optimize spending, and deliver sustainable savings across key categories.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, drive performance, innovation, and value creation while ensuring service quality and continuity.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Finance, Operations, Clinical, Marketing, Legal) to identify needs, align procurement priorities, and support business initiatives.
  • Oversee contract strategy, negotiations, and execution to ensure favorable terms, mitigate risk, and protect the organization’s interests.
  • Leverage data, analytics, and technology to enhance procurement performance, improve decision-making, and drive transparency across spending.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strategic thinking.
