About The Position

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, this position is responsible for supporting and advancing the Company’s mission and business culture through the continuous improvement of daily human resources service delivery. The role focuses on ensuring effective, efficient, and responsive HR systems, programs, and advisory support for Property Human Resources Directors and Managers across seasonally adjusted unionized and non-unionized operations. These operations span more than 30 guest service and entertainment–based business units. This position places a strong emphasis on management and executive recruitment, as well as overall talent management across the organization. The role is responsible for continually enhancing recruiting strategies, methods, and processes, including the implementation and optimization of automated and candidate self-service web-based recruitment tools. This includes applicant tracking systems, employee selection processes, orientation and onboarding workflows, and talent-sharing pools to ensure the organization consistently attracts and hires the strongest talent available. The position is also responsible for maintaining and strengthening employee development and talent assessment processes. This includes ensuring business units fully leverage brand training standards where applicable, as well as corporate learning and development programs and resources. Working in consultation with Property Human Resources Directors and Managers, the role also supports business units in identifying opportunities to improve both individual and team effectiveness through strong performance management practices across the organization. The Position also serves as the Organization’s Culture Champion by leading and promoting company-wide culture and employee communication initiatives driven by Human Resources that reinforce the organization’s values, employee engagement, and “employer of choice” philosophy. Partners with leadership teams across all business units to embed culture into daily operations, recognition programs, employee events, and leadership practices, ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience across the organization.

Requirements

  • Previous demonstrated management and executive recruitment experience, expertise, and training. Creating and delivering large volume integrated and effective staffing and recruitment and selection tactics, programs, and related administration, measured by retention rate of new hires, new hire performance rates, time to fill, and cost to hire criteria, preferably in a comparable service-based employment setting is a define asset
  • General progressive Organizational Development and Human Resources/ Labour Relations knowledge, experience and accomplishments servicing both non-union and union work environments, preferably in a comparable service- based employment setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, persuasion/mediation and communication skills, particularly tact and diplomacy, as they pertain to creating a highly valued and challenged team of human resources professionals assisting management improve employee guest service delivery and department effectiveness and efficiency
  • Sound knowledge and experience with applicable and Ontario employment legislation ( Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WSIA, Pay Equity Act, AODA and related regulations as they pertain to human resources/employee-related issues
  • Excellent organizational, time management and skills. Experience in budgeting and financial analysis as they pertain to employee/ departmental costings and value-added human resources strategies
  • Previous experience with an integrated HR/Payroll/ HRIS/Workforce Management application (Ceridian Dayforce ) and evolving AI platforms and applications

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors /Masters of Industrial Relations/ CHRP designation or equivalent training as asset. Previous successful Employer employment/labour relations advocacy experience before employment boards and tribunals an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide inspirational leadership and development to employee services staff by supporting a culture of continuous process improvement and employee development in both department effectiveness and efficiency, constructive change, and operational excellence to develop staff to their full potential and in full support of operational needs and priorities
  • Work closely with Senior Management ensuring fact –based , consistent, timely advice is delivered by a team of site-based Human Resources Director/Managers in order to identify and act upon opportunities to increase/maximize guest satisfaction/customer service and business profitability, and respond to employment related issues and concerns expeditiously and competently
  • Adjusting to changing and challenging needs and priorities in a fast-paced, guest- focused service business environment that strives on providing unparalleled guest service in seasonal adjusted business environments.
  • Assist the VP Human Resources in adapting and implementing AI and related cost effective value-added technologies to human resources strategies, programs, and services.
