About The Position

The Senior Director Operations is the overall leader of manufacturing operations at the Drummondville site and is accountable for delivering world-class operational performance across production, safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development. This role ensures the efficient and reliable execution of manufacturing activities while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and long-term competitiveness of the site. As a key member of the site leadership team, the Senior Director of Operations partners closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, and other functional leaders to align manufacturing performance with business objectives, customer expectations, and growth strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing and operations management.
  • Significant experience leading large-scale manufacturing organizations within industrial, engineered products, or capital equipment environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, delivery performance, and cost management.
  • Demonstrated success leading Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing capital projects, automation programs, and organizational change.
  • Strong strategic and operational leadership capabilities.
  • Deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional people leadership and organizational development skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership capabilities.
  • Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • French-English bilingualism.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all manufacturing operations for the Drummondville facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.
  • Maintain overall accountability for production performance, including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and Employee Engagement.
  • Ensure reliable execution of the production plan and achievement of customer delivery commitments.
  • Monitor and drive key operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Act as the primary manufacturing representative within the site leadership team and broader organization.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the site.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency, throughput, quality, and capacity utilization.
  • Lead initiatives focused on process optimization, standardization, automation, modularization, and waste reduction.
  • Establish sustainable continuous improvement methodologies and a culture of problem solving and accountability.
  • Benchmark internal and external best practices and deploy innovative manufacturing solutions.
  • Foster a culture where safety is the highest priority and personal accountability is expected at all organizational levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety, regulatory, customer, and quality requirements.
  • Drive proactive risk identification and corrective actions to achieve world-class safety and quality performance.
  • Promote a culture of quality ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Lead strategic manufacturing initiatives that support business growth, operational scalability, and competitiveness.
  • Drive operational transformation programs and organizational change initiatives.
  • Sponsor and oversee capital investment projects related to capacity expansion, manufacturing technology, automation, and facility improvements.
  • Develop long-term operational strategies supporting future market and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate industry trends and emerging technologies to strengthen operational capabilities.
  • Ensure effective oral and written communication in both French and English with division management and business partners, including the presentation of operational results, monitoring site performance, participating in business reviews, and preparing reports, analyses, and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Environmental, Health & Safety, and Commercial teams to optimize end-to-end value streams.
  • Support sales growth through operational readiness, manufacturing flexibility, and customer responsiveness.
  • Collaborate on capacity planning, inventory optimization, new product introductions, and operational risk management.
  • Ensure alignment between manufacturing priorities and overall business objectives.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing manufacturing organization.
  • Directly and indirectly lead a team of operations managers, production leaders, supervisors, and technical experts.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, accountability mechanisms, and development plans.
  • Drive leadership capability building, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, inclusion, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
