About The Position

The Senior Director of Information Technology is the organization’s chief technology strategist, responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive vision for infrastructure, cybersecurity, data governance, and digital transformation. This role ensures that technology strengthens operational performance, regulatory compliance, and long-term organizational growth across a multi-state human services environment. This leader combines executive-level strategy with the ability to execute hands-on when necessary. The Senior Director partners closely with the CFO and Executive Team to align technology with financial controls, risk management, and mission-critical service delivery. This position is based across the Blue Bell, PA and Raritan, NJ offices, with hybrid flexibility. Travel is required for site support, leadership visibility, and training. Supervises the Technology and Communication Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including direct responsibility for cybersecurity programs.
  • Experience leading IT in a multi-site, compliance-driven environment; human services or non-profit experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success implementing cybersecurity frameworks, managing audits, and leading enterprise-level technology initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection, endpoint protection, encryption, and modern cybersecurity tools.
  • Deep experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, cloud hosting platforms, and enterprise SaaS ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, system integration, and enterprise reporting.
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR/CRM/case management systems used in human services (e.g., Apricot, ETO, Salesforce NPSP).

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Technology Leadership Develop and lead a multi-year IT roadmap that advances organizational strategy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Direct all technology infrastructure, cloud environments, network architecture, and support operations to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Oversee the IT budget, vendor ecosystem, contract negotiations, and procurement strategy.
  • Build, mentor, and hold accountable a high-performing IT team and external partners.
  • Establish standards for service delivery, system uptime, and technology governance.
  • Cybersecurity & Risk Management Serve as the organization’s senior cybersecurity authority, responsible for designing and maturing a comprehensive security program.
  • Lead enterprise-wide policies for data privacy, access control, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, NIST, GDPR, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Oversee cybersecurity audits, penetration testing, risk assessments, and remediation plans.
  • Drive organization-wide cybersecurity training and culture-building initiatives.
  • Enterprise Systems & Data Governance Direct the strategy, implementation, and optimization of mission-critical systems including EHR/CRM platforms, case management systems, HRIS, and financial systems.
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards that protect sensitive client, employee, and donor information.
  • Lead cross-functional data integration and reporting initiatives to improve service delivery, operational insight, and organizational impact.
  • Ensure system reliability, data integrity, and alignment with program and administrative needs.
  • Executive Collaboration & Organizational Impact Partner with the CFO to ensure IT controls support financial integrity, audit readiness, and risk mitigation.
  • Advise the Executive Team on emerging technologies, cybersecurity threats, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Support grant development and reporting related to technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
  • Represent IT in strategic planning, compliance initiatives, and organizational decision-making.
