About The Position

The Senior Director of Human Resources is responsible for the execution and operational leadership of HR services across KVC Missouri. This role ensures consistent application of HR policies, effective resolution of employee relations matters, and reliable delivery of HR programs. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Human Resources, the Senior Director supports implementation of HR strategy and enterprise strategy, and operates within defined decision-making parameters, escalating complex or high-risk matters appropriately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in Human Resources Management with at least five years of experience managing employees and simultaneous projects.
  • At least three years of multi-location/multi-site experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Human Resources Management with at least three years of experience managing employees and simultaneous projects.
  • At least two years of multi-location/multi-site experience.
  • Superior critical thinking, problem solving, communication and leadership skills.
  • Positive, proactive, service oriented and must thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be a change agent and culture champion.
  • Strong analytic skills that include developing and tracking metrics.
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement strategic and tactical data-driven solutions focused on talent acquisition, retention, and workplace injury/incident prevention.

Nice To Haves

  • HR Certifications and specialized training are preferred.
  • Master’s degree in human resources management or related field is preferred.
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred
  • Previous experience in assisting with HR responsibilities in M&A activity and Joint Ventures is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute HR programs, policies, and initiatives as directed by AVP HR and enterprise HR leadership
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across assigned business units
  • Support operational leaders with day-to-day HR needs, ensuring timely and effective service delivery
  • Maintain alignment between HR practices and organizational standards
  • Manage employee relations matters including performance management, corrective action, attendance, and workplace conduct
  • Conduct workplace investigations that are timely, objective, and well-documented
  • Apply employment laws and HR policies consistently; escalate complex or high-risk issues
  • Support leaders in addressing workforce challenges with practical, compliant solutions
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and organizational employment requirements (EEO, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.)
  • Support audits, TJC surveys, OSHA reviews, and internal compliance processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation for employee relations cases and HR actions
  • Identify potential compliance risks and escalate appropriately
  • Supervise and support HR Managers, HR Business Partners, and HR staff
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and guidance to build capability and consistency
  • Establish clear expectations for HR service delivery, documentation, and compliance
  • Address performance concerns through coaching and corrective action
  • Identify inefficiencies or gaps in HR service delivery
  • Recommend and support implementation of process improvements
  • Promote consistency, efficiency, and reliability in HR operations
  • Support standardization of HR practices across sites
  • Monitor HR metrics including turnover, employee relations trends, and compliance indicators
  • Provide regular updates and insights to AVP HR
  • Use data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support data-driven decision-making within assigned scope
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Employee Safety, Wellness, Compliance, and Training teams
  • Support delivery of HR service level agreements (SLAs) across business units
  • Collaborate with operational leadership to improve workforce outcomes and employee experience
  • Participate in organizational initiatives, workgroups, and committees
  • Travel to business unit locations as required
  • Perform additional duties aligned with role scope and organizational needs
  • Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive employee and organizational matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards consistent with organizational policy and legal requirements.
