Compass Family Services, a 100+ year old nonprofit dedicated to addressing San Francisco's homeless crisis, seeks a Senior Director of Housing Programs. This role will lead a team focused on providing comprehensive support to families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, aiming for immediate needs and long-term success. The housing programs team empowers families to find and maintain safe, stable, and affordable housing through services like housing search assistance, move-in cost support, ongoing rental subsidies, and case management. The Senior Director will guide five program teams and over 40 staff across various housing and eviction prevention programs. This includes supervising five Program Directors, strategizing across teams, and collaborating with funders and the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH) to influence policy and programs for homeless families. The position ensures programs deliver effective, trauma-informed services, identifies opportunities for streamlining, and represents Compass externally. Collaboration with Public Policy, Development, Impact + Learning, Behavioral Health Services, and People Strategy teams is crucial for advocacy, funding, data-informed decision-making, and embedding inclusive, equitable, and anti-racist perspectives. The role may also involve crisis intervention and direct client care.
