About The Position

The Senior Director of Grants & Government Partnerships is a key organizational leader responsible for guiding and strengthening Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue’s growing portfolio of government and institutional funding. This role ensures that public and grant‑funded resources are stewarded with care, integrity, and measurable impact, supporting life‑changing programs for children and teens across our community. The Senior Director leads grant compliance, reporting, and cross‑department coordination with a focus on partnership, clarity, and operational excellence. Working closely with Program, Finance, HR, and Executive Leadership, this position ensures that grant‑funded work is well supported, well documented, and aligned with organizational priorities. The Senior Director also supervises the grants team and will help shape the future growth of the grants and compliance function as the organization expands.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience in grant management, compliance, or government-funded programs—ideally within a nonprofit or public-sector environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal grant requirements, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).
  • Experience managing complex, multi-funded programs and reporting structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff, collaborate across departments, and communicate clearly.
  • High level of organization, follow‑through, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical decision‑making, responsible stewardship, and high professional standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to use precise language and present clear outcomes.
  • Commitment to youth development, equity, and the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the organization’s lead for government and institutional grant compliance, ensuring alignment with federal, state, local, and funder requirements.
  • Oversee all programmatic, financial, and outcomes‑based reporting, ensuring submissions are timely, accurate, and reflective of our impact.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure grant‑funded activities are delivered as promised and documented clearly.
  • Guide staff time and resource allocation across grants, supporting accurate payroll charging and cost tracking.
  • Partner with Finance and HR to ensure grant‑related staffing and payroll practices meet funding requirements.
  • Maintain clear timelines and systems for renewals, reports, and compliance milestones.
  • Supervise and mentor the Grants Manager and support the future growth of the grants and compliance team.
  • Provide training and guidance to program and administrative staff on grant expectations, documentation, and best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions‑oriented culture centered on accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Program leaders to support outcomes tracking and grant deliverables.
  • Partner with Finance to align budgets, spending, and reporting.
  • Work with Executive Leadership to assess capacity for new funding opportunities and support strategic growth.
  • Strengthen internal grant tracking systems, tools, and documentation practices.
  • Support internal reviews, monitoring visits, and external audits with confidence and preparation.
  • Continuously improve processes to support clarity, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Represent Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue with professionalism, clarity, and confidence in meetings with funders, government agencies, and external partners.
  • Communicate complex information with precision, ensuring discussions and documentation are clear, outcome‑focused, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Participate effectively in high‑level meetings and monitoring visits, supporting constructive dialogue, accountability, and trust.
