The Senior Director of Planners role at Facet is a high-impact, "leader of leaders" role designed for someone who is passionate about redefining the human impact of financial advice. By upleveling our leadership layer, you will empower every planner on the team to execute our Evolved Planner playbook with elite quality, deep consistency, and true human impact at scale. What Makes This Role Different? Scale Life Change, Not Products: Your primary mission is to ensure every member receives objective, life-changing advice. You are the leader of a model that prioritizes "service with soul," empowering our planners to understand a member's unique psychology and money stories to drive real behavior change. Focus on the Member, Not the Paperwork: We’ve built a proprietary, tech-enabled ecosystem to take the administrative burden off our planners' plates. As a leader, you ensure this synergy allows our team to move beyond transactional tasks and step into elevated roles as inspiring guides and thought partners. Leadership of Technology-Fluent Professionals: You will lead the organization through the transition from tech proficiency to AI fluency. You focus your energy on coaching our teams to work hand-in-hand with our systems, unlocking the human "superpower" of empathy and connection that technology cannot replicate. Requirements

  • CFP® Designation (Required).
  • 12+ years of experience in financial planning or related services; direct experience as a financial planner required.
  • 5+ years of "manager of managers" experience
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, emotional intelligence, and complex problem solving skills
  • Proven track record of leading large organizations (50+) through rapid growth and change.

Nice To Haves

  • FinTech experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Deep expertise and/or experience in specialized advice (e.g. tax, estate planning, insurance) is a plus, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and scale the Planning Leadership Team, coaching them to be world-class developers of talent who master the human elements of advice.
  • Oversee the strategic health and capacity of the entire organization, ensuring we balance workforce demand with an elite member experience to drive sustainable growth.
  • Serve as the VP’s operational proxy, leading the management layer independently and making high-stakes tactical decisions.
  • Own the delivery of core metrics – pod NPS, planner capacity, and member action on advice – across a large, scaling workforce, ensuring high volume never dilutes quality.
  • Lead the organization through the adoption of new technology, ensuring planners retool their skills to act as connectors to our team of experts and products.
  • Drive functional alignment to ensure all members have a high quality experience at every touchpoint.
  • Translate complex business strategies into an inspiring "why" that drives organizational action and talent growth.
