About The Position

Strategically grow the philanthropic impact of the College of Law at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to change lives and save lives. This role requires natural curiosity, compelling vision, and executive presence to initiate and facilitate partnerships with donors who want to create a long-lasting impact. The ideal candidate will be a successful fundraiser, well-versed in best practices, and capable of leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of fundraising professionals. Expertise in communicating effectively with legal professionals and a proven ability to build relationships based on trust and emotional intelligence are essential. The position is with the University of Nebraska Foundation, which supports the University of Nebraska system. The foundation is currently in the public phase of a $3 billion campaign, with a $1.5 billion goal for UNL. This position will be based in the Lincoln office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in development or a related field with transferrable skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and judgement.
  • Discretion in handling confidential matters.
  • Candidates will also be evaluated on our core values of passion for mission, integrity, and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic initiatives and plans for identification and cultivation of major gift prospects, and solicitation of transformational gifts for long term success.
  • Directly communicate with and build a robust community of philanthropic support by partnering with community members, College of Law campus partners, and university leadership.
  • Holistically plan and implement major and principal gift fundraising.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor seasoned, highly motivated, fundraising professionals.
