About The Position

The Indiana University Foundation (IUF) is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven fundraising leader to serve as the Senior Director of Development for The Media School. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of one of the nation’s leading media and journalism programs while advancing the mission of public media through transformational philanthropy. This leader will partner closely with the Dean of The Media School and advancement leadership to build and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy supporting students, faculty excellence, storytelling innovation, experiential learning, and public media impact. The role reports to the Associate Vice President of Development with a dual reporting relationship to the Dean of The Media School. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of media education and public media at Indiana University. Following the merger of The Media School and Indiana Public Media, the organization is building toward an ambitious philanthropic vision with fundraising goals exceeding $6 million annually across the combined unit. As Senior Director of Development, you will partner closely with the Dean, advancement leadership, faculty, alumni, and donors to lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy focused on major and principal gifts, alumni engagement, corporate and foundation partnerships, and donor stewardship. This leader will play a critical role in advancing strategic priorities, identifying transformational opportunities, and strengthening a culture of philanthropy across the School and public media enterprise. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 7 years of fundraising or related experience in a complex organization
  • Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising
  • Experience working in collaborative, matrixed environments
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong strategic planning and relationship management capabilities
