About The Position

The Senior Director of Mental Health ICCE is responsible for overseeing and managing the statewide implementation, administration, and clinical operation of Brain Stimulation Services, including but not limited to Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and other innovative neuromodulation therapies. This role ensures the highest standards of patient care, safety, and effectiveness of services across multiple healthcare facilities and clinics statewide. The Director will collaborate with medical teams, health organizations, and state agencies to provide evidence-based treatments, improve mental health outcomes, and support continuous advancements in Brain Stimulation techniques as well as expand Brain Stimulation Services across the Regional Health Network (RHN).

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Psychiatry, Neurology, Healthcare Administration, or related healthcare field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in leadership in healthcare with at least 5 years in a leadership role in Mental Health.
  • Experience with Brain Stimulation Techniques, including ECT, TMS, and/or other neuromodulation therapies, preferred.
  • Experience in behavioral health settings, with an understanding of regulatory requirements and payer requirements.
  • Proven track record of managing and expanding healthcare programs.
  • Experience with clinical research and evidence-based practice in Brain Stimulation therapies.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of mental health and neurological disorders treated with Brain Stimulation therapies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex medical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to analyze clinical data, assess treatment efficacy, and implement continuous improvement processes.
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and relevant safety standards.
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation in a healthcare setting.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams and have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate complicated policies and procedures and analytical information to a wide variety of audiences
  • Knowledge of operations, labor management, strategic planning, budgeting, project planning and satisfaction performance reporting systems and methodologies required
  • Ability to travel statewide to visit various healthcare facilities as required.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and communicate effectively in clinical environments.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 10 years progressive work experience and 5 years management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the statewide development, coordination, and execution of Brain Stimulation Services, ensuring uniformity in practice standards and service delivery across all participating healthcare facilities.
  • Operational responsibilities for clinical work implemented by multidisciplinary team of professionals, including Psychiatrists, Nurses, and Clinical Technicians
  • Act as a liaison between neuromodulation services and general operations.
  • Assist Medical Director in developing and implementing statewide policies, protocols, and best practices for Brain Stimulation therapies (ECT, TMS, et all).
  • Ensure that all Brain Stimulation procedures are conducted according to established ethical standards and legal guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality, safety, and effectiveness of Brain Stimulation treatments to ensure optimal patient care outcomes.
  • Ensure Providers have updated information to provide evidence-based and fiscally responsible clinical care.
  • Assist in the review of patient outcomes, treatment efficacy, growth planning and implementation as well as implement improvements and pivot planning as necessary.
  • Assist in efforts and scheduling for training and professional development for clinical staff on the latest brain stimulation techniques, equipment, and research.
  • Collaborate with other state agencies, medical professionals, internal and external stakeholders to ensure the integration of Brain Stimulation Services with other mental health, neurological treatments, and integrated clinical areas.
  • Serve as the key liaison between the Brain Stimulation Service team and external regulatory bodies, including accreditation agencies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including external healthcare organizations, Universities, and Research Institutions, General Practitioners and Community Providers to engage in referrals to and from the new and existing neuromodulation therapy clinics.
  • Oversee and/or assist with the budget for services ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high-quality care.
  • Manage the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies for Neuromodulation services.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health regulations and quality standards.
  • Ensure fiscal compliance and conservatism while maintaining a growth mindset and ensuring fiscal goals are achieved.
  • Advocate for Brain Stimulation Services and Neuromodulation within the state, educating stakeholders on the benefits and impacts of these therapies.
  • Engage with Insurance companies to improve, modify and update policies/information and to assist in offering pilot programs, as needed, for new technologies within the Neuromodulation field.
  • Help reduce stigma surrounding Neuromodulation therapies through public education campaigns, meetings, marketing, media, conferences and related events.
