The Senior Director, Marketing – Strategy & New Product Development (NPD) will lead upstream marketing strategy and innovation pipeline development for the business. This role is responsible for identifying unmet clinical needs, shaping product concepts, and translating market insights into differentiated product strategies that drive long-term growth. The leader of this group will work cross-functionally with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to guide new product development from concept through development milestones while ensuring alignment with portfolio strategy and enterprise priorities.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience (people or program), or advanced degree with a minimum 13 years prior relevant experience, minimum of 10 years of managerial experience (people or program).
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead long-term portfolio strategy, identifying growth opportunities, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics.
  • Drive upstream marketing activities including market assessment, voice-of-customer insights, and unmet clinical need identification.
  • Define product concepts, value propositions, and target product profiles to guide product development programs.
  • Partner with R&D leadership to shape and prioritize the innovation pipeline and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Lead development of business cases, financial models, and strategic recommendations for new product investments.
  • Provide strategic oversight for product development programs from concept through development phases.
  • Collaborate with downstream marketing and commercialization teams to ensure successful transition from development to launch planning.
  • Present portfolio strategy, innovation initiatives, and program updates to senior leadership.
  • Build and develop a high-performing upstream marketing team and foster a culture of innovation and customer focus.
