About The Position

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Director, Head of Engineering to join our Engineering team for Wealth Management Group. This role is located in New York. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: Lead engineering for the Wealth Client Platform, setting direction for execution, modernization, resiliency, and delivery performance across a complex technology portfolio. Build and lead high-performing global engineering teams, ensuring strong organizational design, technical capability, and resource alignment to platform priorities. Deliver scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions that improve Wealth Management outcomes, client experience, operational efficiency, and platform stability. Serve as the senior engineering partner to Wealth Management leadership, representing cross-platform deliverables, priorities, risks, and outcomes that support the business. Advance engineering excellence through modern software practices, quality discipline, automation, observability, and strong delivery governance. Identify and scale automation and AI-enabled opportunities that improve engineering productivity, workflow efficiency, service outcomes, and operating leverage. Lead risk, control, and operational oversight across the Wealth engineering portfolio, ensuring governance, regulatory readiness, resiliency, and execution discipline. Represent Wealth Engineering at the Wealth Management Business Risk Committee and NA Bank Senior Risk Committee, articulating technology risk posture, delivery status, control health, and remediation plans. Engage with regulatory bodies, including the OCC, on Wealth technology delivery, controls, resiliency, risk management, and remediation topics. Manage budgets, workforce planning, resource allocation, and investment priorities in support of strategic platform objectives. Recruit, develop, and retain strong engineering talent while fostering an inclusive, accountable, and high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, technology delivery, and engineering leadership within large, complex enterprise environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record delivering modernization, platform transformation, resiliency, and engineering execution at scale.
  • Strong technical grounding in enterprise software engineering, distributed systems, integration patterns, APIs, cloud-enabled architecture, and resilient platform design.
  • Hands-on technical experience with Java, Oracle, and large-scale enterprise application environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading global engineering teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong understanding of software delivery, engineering quality, operational controls, resiliency, and technology risk management in high-availability environments.
  • Experience applying automation, data, and AI-enabled capabilities to improve engineering productivity, delivery quality, operational efficiency, or service outcomes.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to influence Wealth Management leadership, engineering, product, architecture, operations, risk, control, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Experience representing technology organizations in senior risk governance forums and engaging with regulators on technology controls, resiliency, and remediation matters.
  • Track record of building high-performing teams, developing engineering leaders, and leading through change.
  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, custody, securities processing, or similarly regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience engaging with clients or senior business stakeholders to communicate platform capabilities, delivery progress, and future roadmaps.
  • Experience operating in environments with stringent cybersecurity, control, resiliency, and regulatory expectations.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving capability, and execution discipline in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
