Senior Director, GTM Product Marketing

BrazeChicago, IL
$158,000 - $236,000Hybrid

About The Position

Braze is the leading customer engagement platform, helping the world's most ambitious brands build absolutely engaging relationships with their customers. From cross-channel messaging and journey orchestration to AI-powered experimentation and optimization, we put market-leading AI in the hands of marketers in one of the most dynamic categories in software. We're growing fast and expanding globally, and this role sits right at the center of how we bring that innovation to market. Our core Product Marketing team defines how the world understands our products. This role is about what happens next: turning that messaging and positioning into a field narrative that wins. You'll be the connective tissue between Product Marketing and the GTM organization — the person who makes sure everything we bring to market is visible, understandable, and sellable across Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, and Partnerships. This is a player-coach role. You'll lead a small, agile team of GTM PMMs while staying hands-on in the work yourself — and you'll have the runway to grow that team and your scope as Braze scales globally.

Requirements

  • A marketer who loves working with Sales and Customer Success, is trusted as a subject-matter expert by the field, and is seen as a strategic partner by Marketing.
  • Strong messaging craft, with the ability to turn positioning documents and complex products into sharp, memorable, and sales-ready content.
  • Fluent understanding of the sales motion and how deals are closed.
  • Deep curiosity to understand the product, market, competition, and customer.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills, with the ability to command a room.
  • Deep experience in the martech space, including a strong grasp of AI innovations and the competitive landscape.
  • Sharp prioritization skills and ability to build trust across cross-functional teams.
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Marketing, GTM/field marketing, or a closely related GTM function, including experience leading and developing people.
  • A track record of building field-facing narratives and enablement that demonstrably influenced pipeline, deal velocity, or win rates.
  • Deep experience in B2B SaaS, ideally in martech, with strong command of the competitive and AI landscape.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technology into buyer-ready language and help a field organization do the same.
  • Experience building joint go-to-market motions with technology or services delivery partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across functions and bring order to ambiguity.
  • A genuine interest in marketing as a craft.

Responsibilities

  • Shape core messaging and positioning into a compelling, coherent story for the field, tailored by persona, segment, and stage of the funnel.
  • Own the system for making products legible to the GTM organization, including plays, narratives, assets, and channels.
  • Own the go-to-market strategy for technology and services delivery partners, including enablement, strategic partnerships, joint GTM motions, and priority alignment.
  • Own the GTM narrative for Braze's in-house services (support, onboarding, education) and articulate their value as a differentiator.
  • Lead and develop a team of GTM PMMs, setting priorities, raising the bar on craft, and building a scalable function.
  • Partner with Sales, Solutions Consultants, and CS leaders to understand field needs and translate product value into actionable language.
  • Translate complex technology into buyer-ready language and coach the field to do the same.
  • Utilize AI as a force multiplier, understanding its impact on martech and marketing practices.
  • Prioritize ruthlessly, focusing the team's energy on high-impact initiatives and having the judgment to decline others.
  • Spend time with customers to gather insights for messaging, playbooks, and roadmap discussions.
