About The Position

The Senior Director, Global Quality provides enterprise-wide leadership for Celanese's global Quality strategy, governance, and performance. This role is responsible for Quality monitoring, improvements, Quality Management Systems, Supplier and Contract Manufacturing Quality, Logistics Quality, Manufacturing Quality support, and customer Quality experience and customer complaint management. Working closely with business, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial leaders, the Senior Director develops and deploys quality strategies, capabilities, and technologies that mitigate risk, enhance customer satisfaction, improve operational performance, and support sustainable business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Sciences, Data Analytics or a related technical discipline
  • 15+ years of experience in the chemical, petrochemical, polymer / compounding, or related process manufacturing industries
  • Strong knowledge of Quality systems and statistical technologies / tools
  • Demonstrated success implementing, standardizing, and governing Quality Management Systems across multiple manufacturing sites and regions
  • Leadership ability to navigate and support customer facing functions, business imperatives, and operating manufacturing sites
  • Understanding of the business and operational drivers for Quality programs
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and experience supporting technology investments and deployment decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire global technical teams while driving enterprise-wide initiatives and organizational change
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior leadership and build alignment around implementation strategies and business objectives
  • Proficiency in working with external parties to resolve Quality notifications, adopt new Quality learnings, and improve product performance

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent certifications preferred
  • Deep understanding of ISO 9001 and other industry-specific quality standards applicable to chemical and advanced materials manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Develop, own, and drive the global Quality Improvement Roadmap
  • Support corporate strategy to achieve excellence in Quality
  • Drive Quality elements for the Enterprise, both Engineered Materials and Acetyls
  • Provide strategic direction and technical guidance for Quality Management System Support and System Technology
  • Lead and support a global team to Manage Change Controls and leverage the Document Control System
  • Ensure Quality Design & Certification
  • Support planning & coordination of Quality system upgrades across all Celanese sites
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key Quality related vendors and organizations
  • Drive New Supplier Qualification Management, Manage Supplier Quality Performance, Improvement of current suppliers and Logistics Quality elements as well
  • Provide alignment and improvement on Contract Manufacturing / Toller Quality and other aspects to ensure business and manufacturing criteria are met
  • Prioritize and support resolutions of Quality notifications
  • Partner with senior leaders, site leadership, Quality teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and successful execution of the global Quality strategy
  • Manufacturing Quality Support in alignment with the Manufacturing sites
  • Support Customer Specific Requirements and quality contract reviews
  • Drive Customer Quality Experience & Customer Complaint Management
  • Provide expert troubleshooting support and technical leadership to resolve critical Quality challenges across Manufacturing sites
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, industry, and customer requirements including ISO standards, GMP requirements where applicable, UL certifications, product certifications, and external regulatory obligations
  • Lead development of enterprise Quality capability, including succession planning, competency models, training programs, and leadership development to strengthen Quality capabilities across the organization
