About The Position

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Senior Director, Global Portfolio Strategy, GU Oncology to be located in Raritan, NJ. Our Oncology team is focused on the elimination of cancer by discovering new pathways and modalities to finding treatments and cures. The Senior Director, Global Portfolio Strategy GU Oncology role within the Global Commercial Strategy Organization (GCSO) designs and leads executive-level GU global portfolio strategy across GU disease areas – both Prostate and Bladder Cancer therapy areas, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives to enhance the value of our global portfolio across early, launch and inline assets. The role will partner closely with key functions across the Global Commercial Strategy Organization, Johnson & Johnson Research & Development (R&D) & J&J regions, navigating a broad matrix across Prostate and Bladder Cancer to shape, influence and collaborate including Global Strategic Marketing, Global Strategic Analytics, Medical Affairs, R&D, Market Access, Operations, Business Development to drive GU cancers strategy realization. The position will shape the vision of GU Oncology long-range strategic plan, identify critical success factors for GU portfolio commercialization, develop and deploy GU portfolio level strategic initiatives that will optimize our business impact, leadership position, customer experience. The role will be a core member of the GCSO GU Oncology Leadership Team and GU organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • A minimum of 12 years of progressive biotech, pharmaceutical or relevant experience is required
  • Business experience with strong business acumen across the value stream
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design, structure, and lead projects
  • An understanding of major trends and dynamics in the pharmaceutical sector
  • The ability to build and maintain credibility with senior leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functional and geographic boundaries
  • A proven track record of success in ambiguous and complex environments required
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently, gain alignment and driving decision making is required.

Nice To Haves

  • MS/MBA preferred
  • Experience with Oncology Companion Diagnostics is preferred
  • An advanced degree (MBA or MS) is preferred.

  • Previous experience managing P&L is desired

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Global GU commercial strategy integration, from bladder and prostate DAS strategies and evolving GU market and landscape dynamics
  • Inform near and long-term decision making, provide broad visibility into long-term oncology portfolio implications, future capability planning, organizational design to realize optimal DAS strategy
  • Lead broad-based strategic projects for the GU DAS with full accountability for successful project delivery and demonstrated business impact such as co-positioning of multiple assets, innovative go-to-market strategies, customer engagement and internal capability uplift to drive organizational success.
  • Work independently to oversee multiple projects simultaneously; responsible for contributing to and independently developing business strategies, while working in a highly matrixed organization
  • Collaborate with GU commercial leaders & R&D (early and late development) to shape the vision for future GU portfolio development and actively support decisions on GU portfolio development prioritization in line with long-term GU portfolio strategy
  • Shape & drive core business cycle deliverables for GU DAS including annual BP, G&Os, resource planning and optimization, providing updates to Sr. Executives
  • Collaboration & Matrix leadership across global and regional cross-functional partners (3M, R&D, NPBD) to ensure one voice in GU strategy development, implement global strategic thinking and navigate ambiguity
  • Demonstrate strong external focus by active engagement with key external stakeholders including Key Opinion Leaders and Patient Opinion Leaders.
  • Be the ambassador for GCSO; attract, develop, and retain high performing talent. Build vibrant prostate & GU team culture and shape next generation of commercial leaders.
