Senior Director, Finance Transformation
About The Position
HubSpot is seeking a finance transformation leader to shape the future of its Finance organization. The role acts as the product leader for Finance, determining what to build, buy, or automate and leading the team that delivers it. Reporting to the SVP Finance, the Senior Director will transform Finance through AI, automation, advanced analytics, technology, process redesign, and new organizational models. The role owns a multi-year roadmap and personally drives high-impact initiatives. The leader will guide Finance toward a model in which automation handles transactional work, AI and analytics provide predictive insight, and employees spend more time informing enterprise decisions. The role leads an approximately 20-person team spanning analytics engineering, ML engineering, program management, and finance systems support, while partnering with core systems owners across the company. This is a hands-on leadership role with broad enterprise scope, requiring stakeholder influence and strong SOX compliance and auditability.
Requirements
- Track record of leading finance transformation in a scaled technology company, including ERP or system change, process redesign, automation, and data modernization.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying AI and automation solutions in Finance.
- Practical fluency in AI, automation, and data, with the judgment to deliver business results while maintaining appropriate controls.
- Technical depth to engage with Machine Learning and Analytics Engineers about what they are building and how.
- Strong working knowledge of SOX, internal controls, and public-company reporting processes.
- Proven ability to lead through influence across Finance, Engineering, and Data.
- Strong analytical, executive communication, and change-leadership skills.
- Comfort moving between strategy and hands-on execution.
- Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities
- Define, evaluate, evolve, and own a multi-year Finance transformation roadmap covering technology, processes, systems, data, and governance.
- Set and track KPIs to measure transformation outcomes, including productivity, close speed, forecast accuracy, and insight quality.
- Identify and scale valuable applications of AI and automation across Finance; redesign workflows end to end and establish appropriate roles, governance, and human accountability.
- Modernize high-volume and transactional Finance activities across FP&A, Procure-to-Pay, Quote-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, Treasury, Tax, and Internal Audit while maintaining strong, scalable controls.
- Develop scalable analytical tools and products that provide forward-looking, predictive, actionable, and increasingly self-service financial insights.
- Partner with Finance leaders to improve the speed and quality of enterprise decision support and help business leaders understand performance drivers, tradeoffs, and potential outcomes.
- Set prioritization, governance, and accountability for major cross-functional initiatives; align Finance, Engineering, FinTech, Operations, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders.
- Oversee cross-functional project teams, external consultants, and technology vendors.
- Lead an approximately 20-person team across analytics engineering, ML engineering, program management, and finance systems support.
- Assess how Finance roles and capabilities must evolve as AI and automation change Finance work; develop career experiences and capabilities for Finance talent.
- Partner with Finance leadership to develop the talent strategy for the future Finance organization.
- Maintain SOX compliance and auditability throughout transformation initiatives.
