About The Position

We are seeking a visionary and strategic senior leader with a wealth of diverse experience to work in close collaboration with BU SVPs, VPs, and their leadership teams to develop and lead the vision, strategy, and execution for field-facing colleague engagement and operations—enabling exceptional colleague and customer experiences. This individual will be responsible for significantly elevating the enablement of customer-facing teams by architecting scalable field excellence capabilities, modernizing field engagement models, and institutionalizing the behavioral change necessary to optimize field performance and commercial outcomes. This leader will serve as the primary architect of Regeneron field excellence strategy, working closely with business unit commercial and field leaders to ensure that capability investments and engagement programs are tightly aligned with business priorities. Responsibilities extend to designing and overseeing the institution of new programs, operationalizing ways of working across field and cross-functional teams, and embedding the behavior change solutions required to ensure transformations are adopted, effectively integrated into workflow, and continuously optimized in service of the business.

Requirements

  • At least 14 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with significant leadership experience in commercial operations, field excellence, field enablement, or analogous commercial enablement roles.
  • Deep, hands-on experience designing and deploying field enablement frameworks, including Next Best Action (NBA), CRM optimization, and AI-driven insight tools within a pharmaceutical or life sciences commercial organization.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale commercial transformations—including organizational design, operating model redesign, and capability scale-ups across field organizations of 500+ personnel.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, matrixed environments with influence across senior leadership, cross-functional partners, and distributed field teams without formal direct authority over all resources.
  • Experience designing and executing behavior change and adoption programs that successfully embed new tools, processes, and ways of working into field workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in field deployment, incentive design, field force effectiveness (FFE), field analytics, and virtual engagement model design preferred.
  • Experience with account management frameworks, IDN/organized customer strategies, and cross-functional engagement models spanning Sales, Medical Affairs, and Market Access is a strong differentiator.
  • Prior experience supporting high-profile product launches, including organizational readiness, field deployment, and engagement model design, strongly preferred.
  • Experience as a strategic advisor or internal consultant to senior executive leadership, translating complex business challenges into actionable commercial roadmaps, is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the long-term vision for Regeneron field enablement and engagement strategy across business units, ensuring alignment with each BU’s commercial priorities and organizational goals.
  • Develop a holistic strategy for how field-facing colleagues engage customers—HCPs, institutions, and payers—and how the organization supports them through tools, training, CRM, analytics, and processes.
  • Translate vision into a prioritized, multi-year roadmap outlining capabilities, tools, processes, engagement models, and metrics to build and optimize over a 1–3 year horizon.
  • Lead field enablement initiatives for all customer-facing colleagues, ensuring they have the tools, processes, intelligence, and support to deliver differentiated, high-impact customer engagements.
  • Partner closely with training teams to design and implement role-specific programs that build field capability, ensure effective adoption of new tools and workflows, and maintain launch readiness.
  • Define metrics and success criteria for all field enablement programs; oversee and monitor performance against these standards with rigor and transparency.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for cross Portfolio initiatives to a Field Force Effectiveness colleagues who are embedded within and report into the individual business units—functioning as a cohesive, enterprise-wide field excellence capability without formal direct management authority.
  • Establish clear operating rhythms, performance standards, and cross-BU coordination mechanisms to ensure Field Excellence Leads operate with consistency, alignment, and shared accountability for commercial outcomes.
  • Develop and socialize common frameworks, toolkits, and playbooks that Field Excellence Leads can adapt and deploy within their respective business units.
  • Codify role scope, remits, and ways of working across functions and business units (xRole and xBU), ensuring alignment and consistency in engagement approaches where appropriate.
  • Design holistic, cross-functional engagement solutions that leverage the full customer-facing team—Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Account Management—to deliver seamless, high-value customer experiences.
  • Support the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring that HCP, institution, payer, and account needs are understood and translated into meaningful, consistent, high-quality engagements.
  • Lead the implementation and integration of CRM technology to support pre-call planning, next-best-action recommendations, and field productivity—ensuring seamless integration into daily workflows.
  • Oversee field enablement for AI-driven solutions that enhance customer engagement, improve field productivity, and deliver actionable insights in real time.
  • Collaborate with IT, SI&A, and Commercial Operations teams to integrate tools and technologies into field workflows without disruption to ongoing commercial activity.
