About The Position

The Senior Director, Engineering will manage multiple teams to influence cross-technical and business decisions, ensuring alignment between engineering execution and company-wide goals. This role involves expanding from a domain-specific focus to include cross-functional oversight, aligning multiple teams, and setting direction at a higher level to shape cross-functional strategy. The Senior Director will align engineering teams with the product roadmap by collaborating with product leadership, proactively identifying dependencies, and ensuring strategic initiatives are successfully executed. This position requires continuous evaluation and driving of process improvements, integrating innovative best practices to enhance efficiency, scalability, and business outcomes. The role also involves leading cross-functional collaboration to meet key business objectives and resolve team obstacles, providing technical direction for architectural decisions, and ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for long-term success across internal and customer-facing platforms. Additionally, the Senior Director will drive proactive resolution of high-priority technical issues, streamlining escalation and coordination across teams to minimize business impact, and manage technical risks, including ensuring systems have backup, failover, and disaster recovery plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Comp Sci, Software Eng, or related field
• 5 yrs exp
• 5 yrs exp with scaling distributed systems & cloud-based platforms
• 5 yrs exp with using Cloud technologies including AWS (S3, SNS, SES, API Gateway), Kubernetes, ArgoCD
• 5 yrs exp with Working in Python, Ruby, Node, PHP, & .Net
• 5 yrs exp with using software development lifecycle, DevOps, security, & compliance best practices
• 5 yrs exp with planning & executing software platform changes w/ min disruption to clients/ongoing activity
• 5 yrs exp with utilizing Queue mechanisms incl RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka
• 5 yrs exp with analyzing, assessing, & communicating software implementation options according to various IT environments
• 5 yrs exp with working w/ Databases incl Postgres, DynamoDB, & MySQL
• 5 yrs exp with using tools incl Datadog, Logstash, ElasticSearch, Docker, Redis
• 5 yrs exp with designing & executing plans for software installations
• 5 yrs exp with using & monitoring software distribution channels, techniques & auto-recovery tools
• 5 yrs exp with integrating & communicating across applications, databases, & platforms.
