About The Position

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago partners with mission-driven people and organizations across Cook and Lake counties to witness a message of mercy and hope to a world in need by improving lives and nourishing spirits; strengthening and empowering people, families, and communities; and committing to being present to our times through the eyes of faith. Reporting to the Vice President of Mothers and Families, the Senior Director -- Domestic Violence Support leads a team that supports mothers and children through CCAC's transitional homes, currently in Waukegan and on Chicago's North Side. The Senior Director manages a $1.5MM budget and supports two to three direct reports and ~20 team members, and coordinates ~50 volunteers.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years in management experience in human services, including in areas related to domestic violence support
  • Experience leading teams of 10+ employees
  • Experience managing program budgets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 40 hour DV training certification
  • Background check, including any program specific requirements

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of Domestic Violence Support programs, including service delivery, fiscal integrity, and client outcomes. Ensure team members are trained in best practices and informed of current trends in domestic violence awareness and intervention.
  • Lead team to ensure that high-quality, evidence-informed programming meets the needs of those affected by domestic violence. Ensure leaders are consistently implementing quality case management, family engagement, and clinical practices. Ensure team is trained and supported to provide best-in-class, trauma-informed services. Provide effective people leadership by setting clear direction, supporting staff development through training and coaching, actively participating in recruitment and selection, managing performance, addressing staff concerns, and applying appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary to foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Regularly evaluate Domestic Violence Support operations and use assessments to inform program delivery. Maintain accurate data collection and ensure reports are prepared and delivered on time. Handle crises and client and employee complaints with sensitivity and experience, make independent decisions and consult with Vice President when necessary to resolve matters. Maintain compliance with organizational regulations as well as applicable accreditation, legal, and practice standards.
  • Build and implement Domestic Violence Support program strategy, ensuring a cohesive and current model for engaging, supporting, and empowering survivors. Identify trends and opportunities for program development and continuous improvement. Serve as Subject Matter Expert on domestic violence at CCAC and across the wider community. Partner with VP-Mothers and Families to lead growth and development of best-in-class domestic violence supports for moms and their children.
  • Build and sustain meaningful partnerships with peer organizations, key stakeholders, and volunteer groups to build awareness of our programming, ensure that survivors served by CCAC have access to critical services and supports, and to engage actively in the ecosystem supporting this vulnerable population.
