About The Position

The Director of Domestic Violence Services provides visionary and collaborative leadership for the development, coordination, expansion, and oversight of Domestic Violence Services. This role is ideal for a passionate, organized, and community-centered leader who thrives in fast-paced human service environments and is committed to supporting survivors through trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and equitable practices. The Director will oversee the administrative and operational functions of the department including staff supervision, program development, data collection and reporting, budget management, community engagement, volunteer coordination, and partnership development. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience, excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to build meaningful community relationships, and experience working within the fields of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, or related human services. Requirements

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with data collection, reporting, program evaluation, and outcome tracking.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and survivor-centered approaches.
  • Proven strategic and tactical planning skills for program operations and development.
  • Skills in supervision, leadership, and community organization.
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus relevant experience in social work, program development, organizational planning, human services administration, or related field preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and through presentations.
  • Ability to travel locally for meetings, community events, trainings, and partnership activities as needed.
  • Ability to perform essential job duties in a professional office and community-based environment.

  • Experience within domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, crisis intervention, or related human service fields preferred.
  • Master’s Degree a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, support, and evaluate direct reports while fostering a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
  • Promote professional growth, strong communication, time management, and leadership development among staff.
  • Prepare regular program reports, outcomes, analysis, and updates for the Chief Program Officer, funders, committees, and community stakeholders as needed.
  • Serve as a representative of YWCA Central Massachusetts at committees, coalitions, community meetings, trainings, networking events, and presentations as assigned by the Chief Program Officer.
  • Prepare and oversee the administration of annual Domestic Violence Services operating plans and program budgets in alignment with the organization’s strategic priorities and financial goals.
  • Lead, support, and strengthen community partnerships through community engagement, advocacy, outreach, and partnership development with community agencies, businesses, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization through public speaking engagements, trainings, presentations, and community advocacy efforts related to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and survivor support services.
  • Coordinate and facilitate domestic violence trainings internally for staff and externally for community partners, organizations, and community members.
  • Work collaboratively with Department Directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners to identify, develop, market, and support innovative programming opportunities.
  • Ensure coordination across assigned program areas and integrate departmental needs within overall organizational operations.
  • Design and maintain systems for planning, evaluation, reporting, and data collection to support program goals, compliance, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Utilize strong organizational and time management skills to effectively balance operational oversight, community engagement, staff supervision, reporting requirements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Chief Program Officer to ensure programs remain accessible, inclusive, trauma-informed, and supportive of all participants regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, language, culture, socioeconomic status, or abilities.
  • Serve as a liaison with community groups, agencies, funders, advocacy organizations, and collaborative partners.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Chief Program Officer.
