About The Position

Revolution Medicines is a late-stage clinical oncology company developing novel targeted therapies for patients with RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins. The company’s RAS(ON) inhibitors daraxonrasib (RMC-6236), a RAS(ON) multi-selective inhibitor; elironrasib (RMC-6291), a RAS(ON) G12C-selective inhibitor; zoldonrasib (RMC-9805), a RAS(ON) G12D-selective inhibitor; and RMC-5127, a RAS(ON) G12V-selective inhibitor, are currently in clinical development. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway. The Opportunity: Reporting to the Executive Director, Head of Contracting, this role will provide leadership and oversight for contracting strategies and activities supporting the company’s contract needs, including management support for assigned attorneys, contract managers and contract administrators. The Senior Director, Contracting will assess evolving contracting needs in a quickly changing environment, support Contract Lifecycle Management system change, maintain strong client and customer relationships, and help manage service level goals for the contracting function. The position is a leadership role and will be instrumental in facilitating the growth of RevMed's contracts department. Other duties and responsibilities include: Partner with the Executive Director, Head of Contracting to establish the strategic direction and governance of the contracting function across the United States and EX-US, shaping enterprise contracting strategy, developing organizational capability, influencing broader Legal Operations priorities, and implementing scalable processes, playbooks, templates, and policies that support efficient contract execution from initiation through completion. Manage, develop, and coach a legal contracts team currently consisting of attorneys, contract managers and contract administrators. Assess contracting needs across the company in a quickly changing environment and partner with the Executive Director, Head of Contracting, to prioritize resources and process improvements. Help support Contract Lifecycle Management system change, including implementation, adoption, workflow design, archiving, reporting, and process optimization. Maintain strong client and customer relationships, serving as a practical legal partner to business stakeholders and an escalation point for contracting matters as appropriate. Help manage service level goals for the contracting function, including intake, turnaround times, prioritization, transparency, and continuous improvement. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts for multiple RevMed functional areas with a focus on clinical trial agreements, CRO agreements, supply agreements, NDAs, consulting agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, sponsored research agreements, MTAs, and other general contracting matters. Function as point of contact for multiple client groups, leveraging internal and external resources to timely and cost-effectively meet the legal needs of the client groups. Advise RevMed's business units on compliance with the terms of active contracts, with the ability to interpret and discuss complex legal concepts in a pragmatic way that results in actionable business advice. Maintain and encourage a growth mindset that enables success in a rapidly evolving organization. Coordinate with, and help manage, outside counsel on contract matters as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Excellent team management skills, with demonstrated ability to oversee a team of attorneys and contracts professionals in an organized, efficient and effective manner.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating contracts, including the ability to distinguish between material versus non-material legal and business issues and communicate regarding these issues effectively.
  • JD degree with 14+ years of contract experience at commercial stage biotech companies.
  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated ability to oversee complex projects, including the implementation of CLM systems and supporting processes, in an organized, collaborative efficient, and effective manner.
  • Experience managing contracting processes and policies and using contracts lifecycle management tools.
  • Current member in good standing of a U.S. State Bar.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with global contracting, CLM implementation or migration, and life sciences contracting is a plus.
