$170,000 - $230,000Hybrid

About The Position

Sellers Dorsey is seeking a Senior Director, Consulting who will serve as a senior leader within an assigned National Consulting Practice (NCP) pillar, providing strategic direction and decision-making for assigned clients and business lines, such as managed care organizations (MCOs), provider led entities (PLEs), solutions providers, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders. This role leverages deep subject-matter expertise across the program's political, policy, financial, quality, and historical dimensions to align delivery with organizational goals. As the Senior Director, Consulting, you will deliver consulting services leveraging deep managed care expertise — including but not limited to health plan operations, clinical care management, healthcare policy, healthcare technology, long-term services and supports (LTSS), and Medicaid financing — across complex populations (not limited to maternal/child health; includes home and community-based services (HCBS), individuals with disabilities, and other special populations). You will also hold sub-P&L responsibility with targets for profitability and growth within their assigned pillar, carry a hands-on client delivery load (target 50% chargeable utilization), lead a small team, and drive expansion of existing client relationships. Your key responsibilities include overseeing consulting engagements, acting as a key liaison for executive stakeholders, and driving solutions that enhance operational efficiency and client outcomes through data-driven strategies and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, or economics.

  • Experience managing large or complex projects; able to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Recognized leader in the health care industry with demonstrated expertise in strategy and management; established reputation for industry-leading expertise in one or more specialties pertaining to Medicaid.
  • Seasoned experience across complex managed care populations — not limited to pregnant women and children — including home and community-based services (HCBS), individuals with disabilities, and other special populations.
  • Experience leading negotiations in complex situations.
  • People management experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of managed care financing and rate-setting concepts is expected; this is not a finance-lead role and does not require CPA-level financial management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to relay complex technical terms in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and other outside audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience in quantitative program evaluation highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in teams; experience delivering services on several projects simultaneously.
