About The Position

The Senior Director, Clinical Services Long-term & Continuing Care provides operational leadership and oversight of clinical performance, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes across Long-Term Care (LTC) and Continuing Care communities nationally. This role is accountable for ensuring consistent, high-quality clinical care delivery across a complex, multi-jurisdictional, highly regulated environment. Through leadership of the Clinical Care Partner team, the Senior Director ensures communities are supported to meet and exceed regulatory requirements, maintain inspection readiness, and deliver safe, effective, and person-centered care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Master’s preferred).
  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Willing to obtain registration with other provincial nursing colleges.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience in healthcare, preferably within Long-Term Care and/or Continuing Care environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing clinical operations within highly regulated healthcare settings.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks across BC, Alberta, and Ontario.
  • Experience leading teams responsible for compliance, inspections, and clinical performance improvement.
  • Strong operational leadership and execution focus.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and inspection processes.
  • Ability to lead and influence in complex, multi-site environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of clinical performance across all LTC and Continuing Care communities nationally.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centered care aligned with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor clinical indicators, performance trends, and emerging risks, ensuring timely intervention and support.
  • Support communities in achieving and sustaining strong outcomes in clinical programs including but not limited to falls, medication safety, responsive behaviours, continence, and skin and wound care.
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of regulatory requirements across LTC and Continuing Care environments.
  • Support accreditation and sustainment activities. Provide resources and expertise to maintain accreditation survey readiness.
  • Ensure Clinical Care Partners are effectively deployed and conducting site visits in alignment with defined service level agreements and quality assurance expectations.
  • Support the development, coaching, and performance management of Clinical Care Partners.
  • Collaborate with Executive Directors and Directors of Care to address complex clinical, regulatory, and operational challenges.
  • Support the implementation of enterprise clinical programs, standards, and quality frameworks within communities.
  • Partner with the Senior Director, Quality & Clinical Programs to support the development and ongoing refinement of Resident Care and Quality & Risk manuals for LTC and CC.
