About The Position

Alnylam is seeking a Senior Director, Clinical Pathology to provide clinical pathology assessment of preclinical results for platform and program support. This role involves reviewing non-GLP and GLP study clinical pathology data, interpreting and reporting findings, and contributing to regulatory filings. The ideal candidate will consult on preclinical study design, actively participate in program meetings, and mentor clinical pathology scientists. This position also requires sharing biomarker and translational expertise across Research and Early Development and participating in company meetings and activities.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience as a pathologist in biotech, pharma or at a CRO
  • Veterinary degree and ACVP/ECVP board certification in clinical pathology
  • Demonstrated scientific curiosity/aptitude through a scientific publication and/or presentation record
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability/interest to travel for essential company activities

Nice To Haves

  • PhD preferred but not required in lieu of relevant pathology experience
  • Strong interest in areas of Alnylam research emphasis; demonstrated experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Clinical pathology assessment of preclinical results for platform and program support
  • Review non-GLP and GLP study clinical pathology data
  • Clearly interpret and report findings and position significance to program teams and broader audiences through descriptions, data tables, and scientific presentations
  • Contribute clinical pathology reports and/or reviews for regulatory filings
  • Consult with other internal and external stakeholders on preclinical study design and interpretation
  • Actively participate in program and platform meetings
  • Mentor the clinical pathology scientist and collaborate with all pathology team members to assure optimal support of data generation and analysis in nonclinical studies
  • Share biomarker and translational expertise across Research and Early Development
  • Participate in group, department and company meetings and activities
