About The Position

The Senior Director, Capital Planning & Analysis leads a team of Financial Analysts and provides financial modeling and business case development for new capital investment opportunities, asset improvement analysis, external investor and banking analysis, and performance measurement against approved business cases. The position supports the Global VP Financial & Capital Planning, CFO, and Global Investment Team in enabling the company’s expansion plan. The role establishes global business case modeling standards, oversees investment scenario development and monitoring, and collaborates with regional and global teams, investors, banking partners, and parent-entity stakeholders. It also manages and develops analyst staff, maintains business case policies and processes, and pursues process improvement and AI-enabled work to improve the speed and quality of analysis. The position is remote for the majority of the time, requires 20–40% travel including international travel, and requires work outside U.S. business hours to accommodate international time zones. The employee must provide an adequate home work environment.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years of financial modeling experience.
Minimum 5 years of management experience.
Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of IFRS.
Ability to communicate complex financial and accounting terminology to non-financial personnel.
Ability to work across groups and organizational levels to build consensus.
Experience evaluating and underwriting real estate, infrastructure, or corporate finance transactions or investment opportunities.
Advanced Excel, VBA, and financial modeling skills, including producing complex, multidimensional models from scratch.
Advanced PowerPoint skills and ability to present complex data in concise memorandums for senior executive audiences.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Power BI, and Outlook.
Comfort working in high-pressure, fast-paced transactional environments.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Ability to work across cultures, languages, and time zones.
Ability to remain stationary for long periods and operate a computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
Able to travel 20–40%, including internationally, and work outside U.S. business hours to accommodate international time zones.
Must provide an adequate at-home work environment.

Responsibilities

Establish and oversee the global business case modeling process, including consistent methodologies, templates, and processes aligned with industry standards and best practices.
Engage with the Investment Team and parent entity to align on investment KPIs and performance expectations.
Oversee development of new-site business case scenarios and engage support functions to support new capital investment approvals.
Establish and maintain regular monitoring and reporting of existing-site business cases against actuals.
Create Power BI dashboards for management reporting and analytics.
Provide business case modeling and analysis for joint venture activities.
Collaborate with Global Portfolio Management on asset improvement analysis and ongoing investor and external banking support.
Create and maintain business case policy and process documentation.
Review practices against industry best practices and collaborate with other functions to improve and automate processes.
Implement AI-enabled activities to reduce delivery time to the business and improve analysis quality.
Manage and develop business case modeling analyst staff.
Collaborate with regional management, global departments, and global FP&A to obtain business case inputs.
Support project sponsors in securing internal approvals, working with the Investment Committee, Land Site Selection, Construction, and the Tokyo parent company.
