The Senior Director, Business System Strategy & Transformation will provide strategic direction and operational oversight for Amentum's SC technology platforms. They will serve as the functional, technical expert and lead transformative initiatives across the Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) value streams. This high-impact role will be responsible for driving technology enablement, data harmonization, innovation, business intelligence and enhancing employee experiences to establish a market-leading supply chain execution model. The Sr. Director will play a pivotal role in delivering next-generation process automation, creating value-driven insights, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to ensure S2P modernization. This role is responsible for shaping and leading enterprise-wide technology and systems transformation initiatives, including ERP modernization; transformational program leadership; business case development and innovation at the intersection of technology and operations. This position is US Remote telework and US Citizenship is required.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of working in S2P and O2C value streams, with hands-on expertise in leading digital transformation initiatives and technology implementations.
  • A strong balance of people management and technical acumen, with the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of supply chain technologies, such as ERP systems (Deltek, SAP, Oracle), procurement platforms, data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), and emerging technologies like RPA, AI, and machine learning.
  • Typically 10+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related functions, with a focus on technology enablement or process transformation.
  • Experience with change management, project management, and facilitating strategic initiatives in a matrixed environment to deliver measurable results.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • with a Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or Master’s preferred).
  • Certification in supply chain management, procurement, or analytics (e.g., CSCMP, APICS, CPSM).

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a multi-year S2P technology strategy that aligns with Amentum’s corporate objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional, enterprise-wide supply chain transformation projects, from concept to implementation, to improve operational effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability across S2P and O2C value streams.
  • Lead technology strategy assessments, operating model redesign, current- and future-state architecture development, and business case creation to improve operational performance and enable scalable growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to incorporate AI-driven tools for optimizing S2P processes, predictive analytics, and enhancing digital experiences.
  • Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to enhance the user experience using emerging tools, features, and digital solutions.
  • Oversee enterprise application modernization initiatives, including business process redesign, requirements definition, solution evaluation and selection, implementation oversight, testing strategy, and value realization across ERP and other critical business platforms.
  • Responsible for creating a digitally enabled, data-driven operating model that delivers lower cost, enhanced supplier engagement, improved resilience, and faster decision-making across the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Serve as a thought leader in performance improvement initiatives, embedding technology and analytics into operational workflows to optimize efficiencies.
  • Act as an executive partner to senior leaders, communicating effectively to drive alignment on system priorities, capabilities, and change management.
  • Build a culture of adaptability, agility, and forward-thinking within the supply chain organization by introducing next-generation process improvements, tools, and resources.
  • Define and execute an autonomous procurement strategy that aligns technology capabilities with organizational needs, ensuring agile and forward-thinking supply chain solutions.
  • Develop standardized, enterprise-wide data capabilities to drive high-quality insights and achieve data synchronization across supply chain functions.
  • Design and implement scalable business intelligence frameworks to enhance data-driven decision-making, utilizing tools and technologies (e.g., advanced analytics platforms, machine learning models) for actionable insights into operational performance.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in technology, finance, and operations to ensure consistent communication and alignment on data systems adoption and usage.
  • Conduct regular audits and analyses to identify opportunities for improving data integrity, system efficiency, and reporting accuracy across the supply chain.
  • Partner with Finance, Technology, and Operations teams to embed supply chain design and execution within larger enterprise initiatives, ensuring end-to-end alignment.
  • Champion partnership and collaboration across the business to develop an organizational culture of innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Actively engage in organizational change management processes to drive adoption of new technologies and workflows.
  • Leverage analytics to provide key insights about SC process performance and system efficiencies.
  • Monitor system access and data quality across S2P platforms through governance and system controls.
  • Continuously assess industry developments and emerging technologies to inform strategic adjustments to the supply chain roadmap.
  • Implement robust cost-benefit analyses for process changes, ensuring all innovation initiatives deliver measurable value and align with business goals.
  • Actively engage in organizational change management processes to drive adoption of new technologies and workflows.
  • Build and execute the roadmap for supply chain innovation, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide strategic objectives.
