About The Position

The Senior Director – Business Insights & Analytics, Business Integration lead will be part of a growing and dynamic team of analytics professionals whose main goal is to help business partners achieve their goals through data and analytics enablement. This role focuses on measurement, intelligence, and AI-enabled product development in support of an assigned business area. Responsibilities broadly include scaling measurement frameworks, unlocking intelligence from relevant data, and delivering actionable recommendations grounded in advanced analytics. This position manages complex analytics projects in collaboration with BI&A Product Teams, business unit and affiliate leadership, marketing, commercial operations, and external agency or vendor partners as applicable. Support typically includes a pod located at Lilly Bangalore as well as direct reports. This role reports into the Business Insights & Analytics AVP of Global Consumer and HCP Media Analytics.

Requirements

  • Experienced in navigating matrixed organizations.
  • Comfort and skill operating in ambiguity.
  • Hands-on experience designing and refining prompts for LLMs, with a strong grasp of AI model behavior, capabilities, and limitations in real-world applications.

  • Experienced in facilitating agile cadence, handling backlog and release planning, tracking team metrics, and removing blockers.

  • Bachelor's Degree

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and scale utilization of analytics data products for the assigned business unit, therapeutic area, or affiliate, ensuring relevance across business partners.
  • Train and upskill the broader organization on measurement frameworks and analytics best practices.
  • Champion Agentic AI transformation as a strategic differentiator, positioning Lilly as an industry leader in business analytics.
  • Manage foundational relationships with internal partners and, where applicable, external agency, vendor, and data partners.
  • Challenge the status quo and drive solutions that help Lilly deliver on its accelerate, reach, and scale goals.
  • Scale and automate data products required to support measurement and reporting for the assigned business area.
  • Bring thought leadership to measurement strategies in ambiguous and rapidly evolving spaces.
  • Partner with data engineering and data science to accelerate creation of intelligence tools (e.g., Databricks) that enable faster, smarter decisions.
  • Lead the end-to-end analytics learning agenda for assigned business partners; analysis, reporting, insights, and recommendations that accelerate scaling of solutions that improve outcomes.
  • Define both the long-term analytics roadmap and near-term sprint plans through an agile planning process, anchored to critical metrics that link to business value.
  • Implement agile product delivery methodologies (e.g., Jira, SAFe) establishing a consistent planning and prioritization framework that improves transparency, productivity, and focus on highest-value deliverables.
  • Develop and track success metrics demonstrating tangible business outcomes, decision influence, tool adoption, and stakeholder impact.
  • Ensure analytics projects follow all privacy and legal requirements, including any third-party and data use agreements.
  • Provide direction and expertise on business rules required for thorough analyses.
  • Triage analytics requests and determine how to proceed (internal capacity vs. external vendor), matching capacity to capability.
  • Partner closely across geographies (including Lilly Bangalore) to ensure teams work as one toward shared deliverables.
  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, developmental support, and career planning for teams and individuals.
