About The Position

We are recruiting for a mission-driven Senior Director, Business Analytics & Decision Support to join our team! We're with you for life’s journey. This position is responsible for planning, administering and completing assigned projects which may cross several functional areas, such as facilities, operations, marketing, or administration. They will achieve maximum value from data and insights to meet deliverables. Interacts with Executive Leadership, Senior Management, Staff, Directors, and Department Leaders fostering an open and collaborative style of communication and leadership to achieve project completion. This position requires subject-matter expertise in business planning and analytics specific to complex health care delivery systems. This position provides leadership for the analysis of complex new initiatives and the decision support function. It may also provide backup for the Associate Chief Business Analytics Officer. Leads project teams that include leadership from strategy, finance, IT, marketing, and clinical operations to understand and evaluate the expansion of current and new lines of business and promote data driven decision making that will have long term impacts across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Health administration, Public Health, Finance or Accounting Required
  • 10+ years leadership role in strategy, business development, analytics, or decision support in the health care industry Required
  • Experience developing complex business plans using data to drive strategy.
  • Understands all operational components necessary to implement a new or expand a current service, including but not limited to capital, equipment, people, education, quality metrics and cost.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to stay flexible with changing priorities.
  • Mastery level knowledge of analytic, reasoning and decision-making tools, as well as risk assessment, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to perform financial analysis.
  • Able to explain complex benchmarking, budget, financial information, and market research to a broad range of individuals from various backgrounds including senior level executives.
  • The ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, supervisory and analytical skills.
  • Independent judgement and initiative for problem -solving and resolution of issues.
  • Exemplary customer service skills and a collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

  • Develop service line plans, business cases, pro formas, and other analyses for existing, new, and expanded service and product lines by leveraging research, data analysis and collaborative relationships.
  • Manages the development of business cases and analysis while maintaining quantitative discipline throughout the planning process.
  • Collaborates with clinical operations, strategy, marketing, finance, and other internal customers to define data and analytics needed for service line development and evaluation including market analysis, operational impact, and financial performance.
  • Analyze development opportunities and threats. Conduct industry and competitor analyses.
  • In partnership with operations monitors, understand, and assesses service line performance by key indicators (e.g., volume, outcomes, market share, financial metrics, etc.) (60%) sources in alignment with the data governance structure.
  • Establish and maintain data systems and standardized reporting to inform decision making and drive optimal performance.
  • Lead the development of analytical models and forecasts to support planning activities and short- and long-range strategy and budgeting cycles.
  • Lead the cost accounting / decision support function to include active management, validation of data and tools, and support of end users and administrative leads in data interpretation.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of Denver Health services and lines of business and stay informed on emerging industry and market trends.(40%)
