About The Position

Responsible for serving as the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) senior marketing leader, developing and executing integrated marketing, brand, communications, and audience growth strategies that advance the organization's mission, strengthen market position, and drive awareness, engagement, and revenue across AONL's products, programs, services, and strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, lead the marketing team; oversee brand management, digital marketing, content strategy, advertising and marketing operations; and partner across the organization to develop integrated campaigns that support organizational priorities and business objectives. Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, using market intelligence and performance analytics to identify growth opportunities, strengthen audience engagement, and enhance AONL's visibility and impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, communications, business administration, healthcare administration or related field.
  • 10+ years progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, brand strategy, audience development, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years leadership experience managing professional staff.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise marketing strategies and integrated campaigns that support organizational growth.
  • Experience utilizing analytics, market research, and audience insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, financial management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Advanced understanding of enterprise marketing strategy, brand management & positioning, organizational communications, audience development & engagement, advertising & media strategy and digital marketing.
  • Advanced understanding of revenue growth support, business analytics & market intelligence, strategic planning, cross-functional leadership, financial & budget management, change leadership and vendor & partner management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute AONL's enterprise-wide marketing and communications strategy, partnering across departments to ensure strategies support organizational priorities while delivering measurable business results.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on marketing, communications, brand strategy, audience engagement, and market opportunities.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and execute integrated marketing plans that increase awareness, audience engagement, and participation across education, conferences, certification, publications, advocacy, foundation initiatives, and corporate partnerships.
  • Lead brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and audience development to strengthen AONL's visibility and market presence.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities, audience insights, and industry trends to inform marketing strategy and organizational growth.
  • Lead integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, email, web, social media, events, and emerging channels.
  • Ensure consistent branding, messaging and audience experience across all marketing initiatives.
  • Oversee organizational communications, content strategy, and editorial planning that support brand awareness, thought leadership, and organizational objectives.
  • Utilize analytics, market research, and audience insights to measure campaign effectiveness, evaluate return on investment, and optimize marketing performance.
  • Continuously evaluate marketing processes, technologies, and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead AONL's advertising and media strategy across print, digital, events, sponsored content, and other marketing channels.
  • Partner with internal business leaders to support advertising, sponsorship, and other non-dues revenue opportunities.
  • Develop advertising products, media kits, pricing strategies, audience insights, and promotional resources that maximize value for advertisers while supporting AONL's mission.
  • Evaluate new marketing and media opportunities that expand organizational reach and generate revenue.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing and communications team.
  • Manage departmental budgets, marketing investments, agencies, consultants, and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
