About The Position

The Senior Director, AI, Data & Integration Architect defines architecture standards and reference patterns for integration, data movement, and AI platform enablement across Duck Creek’s SaaS products. The role provides expert technical direction for API-first, event-driven, file-based, data platform, and agentic AI architecture patterns used by engineering, platform, and solution architecture teams. This role influences architectural decisions through standards, governance, design review, and technical authorship rather than formal people management authority. The role reduces architectural risk, improves implementation consistency, and supports scalable product evolution across a multi-tenant SaaS environment. Define canonical integration architecture patterns across core SaaS products, including event-driven, API-first, asynchronous messaging, and file-based integration models. Establish reusable, vendor-agnostic integration reference architectures that support standardized implementation guardrails for customers and partners. Evaluate and govern integration tooling patterns, including event streaming, API management, iPaaS, Kafka-based models, and Azure-native services. Partner with product engineering, platform engineering, and solution architecture teams to ensure new product capabilities are designed with scalable integration requirements. Define data architecture standards for data at rest, data in motion, and data in use across Duck Creek’s SaaS platform. Lead architecture direction for analytics, reporting, data sharing, Snowflake-based data platforms, and Azure data services. Establish patterns for data contracts, schema governance, and data lineage that support product evolution while reducing integration disruption. Advise on data residency, compliance, multi-tenancy, and platform architecture trade-offs within the scope of data and integration design. Provide architectural direction for AI and agentic workflows to ensure reliable event pipelines, governed data access, and production-grade integration patterns. Collaborate with AI/ML platform teams to connect agentic capabilities to scalable data infrastructure and integration foundations. Author architecture decision records, reference architectures, technical standards, and design guidance used by engineering and architecture teams. Provide architecture review, technical governance input, and expert mentoring to improve the quality and consistency of architecture decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in software architecture, systems architecture, platform architecture, or related technology roles.
  • Experience defining architecture standards or reference patterns across enterprise SaaS, cloud, platform, or distributed software environments.
  • Experience with integration architecture, including APIs, event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, and file-based integration.
  • Experience with cloud-native architecture, including Azure-native services or comparable cloud platform services.
  • Experience with data platform architecture, data sharing, schema design, and data movement patterns.
  • Experience influencing technical decisions across multiple engineering or architecture stakeholder groups without relying solely on formal reporting authority.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated SaaS environments.
  • Experience with insurance data standards or industry integration standards.
  • Experience with AI platform architecture, LLM-enabled workflows, or agentic AI systems.
  • Experience authoring architecture decision records, RFCs, reference architectures, or technical governance materials.
