About The Position

This position is responsible for leading product marketing strategy for Lam’s Advanced Packaging business within the Strategic Marketing organization. The role provides leadership in long-range portfolio direction, business strategy development, and cross-functional alignment to ensure Lam’s Advanced Packaging offerings, market priorities, and product roadmaps are translated into a coherent and actionable growth plan. As part of the Advanced Packaging Strategic Marketing team, this role sits at the intersection of market insight, emerging technology, customer requirements, and Product Group strategy. The Product Marketing Director is responsible for integrating these inputs into a clear 3–5 year strategic direction, portfolio priorities, and business plan for Advanced Packaging. This role operates at a portfolio and business leadership level. Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, cross-functional influence, and the ability to align diverse stakeholders around a common Advanced Packaging growth agenda.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • 15+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including significant experience in Advanced Packaging, product marketing, strategic marketing, product strategy, or related business leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of Advanced Packaging technologies, market dynamics, and customer requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional alignment and influence strategy in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Ability to integrate market, technology, customer, and product inputs into clear strategic direction.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional influence skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field and/or MBA preferred.
  • Prior experience leading product marketing, strategic marketing, or business strategy teams.
  • Experience working across multiple product lines in semiconductor equipment or related technology sectors.
  • Demonstrated success translating market insight and product strategy into executable business plans.
  • Strong familiarity with Advanced Packaging applications such as hybrid bonding, TSV, fan-out, panel-level packaging, chiplet integration, advanced substrates, and heterogeneous integration.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy and Portfolio Leadership
  • Lead the product marketing strategy for Advanced Packaging, setting multi-year portfolio priorities based on market opportunity, customer needs, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics.
  • Drive alignment across Product Groups and key stakeholders to ensure a coordinated Advanced Packaging strategy and clear portfolio choices.
  • Identify strategic gaps, growth opportunities, and required trade-offs to strengthen Lam’s market position.
  • Business Strategy and Planning
  • Own the 3–5 year business and marketing strategy for Advanced Packaging.
  • Translate market, technology, and product inputs into actionable business priorities, strategic plans, and management recommendations.
  • Guide planning and review processes to ensure alignment between growth objectives, roadmap direction, and execution priorities.
  • Roadmap and Market Requirements Leadership
  • Provide leadership for market requirements and roadmap direction across the product marketing function.
  • Ensure roadmap priorities reflect Voice of Customer, business value, and portfolio strategy.
  • Partner with product teams, technologists, and analytics resources to shape roadmap decisions and maintain strategic consistency.
  • Strategic Messaging and Cross-Functional Influence
  • Set direction for portfolio-level positioning, value proposition, and strategic marketing narratives for Advanced Packaging.
  • Serve as the senior interface between Strategic Marketing and Product Groups on portfolio alignment, prioritization, and escalation topics.
  • Guide high-level marketing content and support senior customer or industry engagements where Lam’s product strategy and market direction must be communicated clearly.
