About The Position

Neurotech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a private biotech company focused on developing and commercializing transformative therapies for chronic eye diseases. Their core platform technology, Encapsulated Cell Therapy (ECT), is designed to slow the progression of chronic eye diseases. Their first commercial product, ENCELTOTM, is approved in the United States for the treatment of adults with idiopathic Macular Telangiectasia Type 2 (MacTel). Encapsulated cell-based gene therapy provides long-term, sustained delivery of therapeutic proteins for chronic eye diseases. Reporting to the Vice President of Market Access, the Senior Director, Access Strategy and Operations will be a key leader within the Market Access team. This role is responsible for leading access strategy, access marketing initiatives, and operational execution for Neurotech’s ENCELTO to ensure appropriate patient access. The role requires a strategic mindset, a collaborative approach, and a strong commitment to building a culture of ownership, accountability, and trust. This individual will develop and execute innovative marketing strategies and tactics to engage and facilitate timely and appropriate patient access. Responsibilities will also include managing Market Access operations, including HUB process performance, analytics, cross-functional training, and budget processes. The role demands deep expertise in U.S. market access dynamics, rare/orphan disease challenges, and cross-functional leadership to translate clinical value into sustainable access strategies. This position is Remote, with the option to be located in Neurotech’s commercial offices in Needham, Massachusetts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of progressive commercial experience within the biopharmaceutical industry, with a focus on specialty, rare, or orphan diseases.
  • 5+ years of dedicated Market Access leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of ensuring market access operational effectiveness including patient services process improvement, CRM implementation, access KPI reporting and cross-functional collaboration with key commercial partners.
  • Essential experience working with HUB services, reimbursement systems, and specialty pharmacy models.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support team and business objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in retina or ophthalmology therapeutic areas is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of supporting successful product launches and post-approval commercialization.

Responsibilities

  • Scope, develop and execute promotional payer marketing initiatives to reinforce value proposition to managed care customers: Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, VA/DOD and IDNs.
  • Develop and execute field reimbursement pull through collateral to educate academic centers, ASC’s, health systems, HCPs and office staff on access and reimbursement process for ENCELTO.
  • Collaborate with field reimbursement, sales and marketing to focus on setting access expectations, ways of working and communicating to ensure optimal patient and customer experience.
  • Ensure commercial alignment to key strategies and tactics through highly effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Continuously assess payer policies, coverage trends, and utilization management impacts to support post-approval commercialization.
  • Coordinate strategy and promotional tactics for major industry meetings and conventions.
  • Manage Market Access operations, including data analytics, budget planning processes, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate and analyze coverage policies, PSP data, and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead internal Market Access training initiatives to elevate organizational access literacy and build cross-functional trust.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on access-related risks and opportunities, aligning access strategy with brand positioning and patient journeys.
  • Collaborate closely with Field Market Access, Field Sales, Brand Marketing, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Patient Services teams.
