About The Position
WM is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This role offers career progression, stability, and a safe work environment. The mechanic will be responsible for repairing and maintaining trucks and equipment, working on both diesel and CNG trucks. The position requires a high level of skill and determination, utilizing modern tools and procedures. The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various vehicle systems, estimating repair costs, responding to emergency breakdowns, performing safety checks, and completing required paperwork. The job operates in both inside garage/shop conditions and outside conditions, including inclement weather.
Requirements
- 4 years of relevant work experience
- A valid drivers license, with a clean driving record
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
- Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
- Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
- Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority
- Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
