Senior Diesel Mechanics perform inspections, diagnostic testing, repairs, and maintenance on Rumpke’s vehicle fleet to help ensure trucks are safe and operational. They often handle more difficult repairs, assist in training less experienced technicians, work with minimal direction, and may direct the work of others. The scheduled shift is 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The role involves maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies, diagnosing mechanical issues, completing roadside repairs, and keeping accurate maintenance and parts records using a computer or tablet. Mechanics may travel for training or business needs and may assist elsewhere in the vehicle maintenance shop. The position includes physical work in outdoor and shop environments, exposure to waste and varying environmental conditions, and the possibility of overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.
