About The Position

WM is hiring a Senior Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair trucks and equipment that serve customers across the United States. The role works with modern tools and procedures on diesel equipment and, at some locations, CNG trucks. The normal work setting is a repair and maintenance shop at WM’s Johnstown, Pennsylvania hauling site, with work also taking place outside in varying weather conditions.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. The expected base pay range is $29 to $40 per hour, depending on factors such as experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. Requirements

• Four years of relevant work experience.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
• Perform safety checks on vehicles.
• Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times.
• Assist other mechanics with project work.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Perform all work according to established safety procedures.
