About The Position

The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant III assists the supervisor with the day-to-day workload in support of Diagnostic Imaging operations and facilitates communication with patients, department staff, other hospital departments, and radiologists. This role performs various duties to support the department's operations, including QA/QI activities through data collection and evaluation, spreadsheet management, and accessing the RIS report writer. The position utilizes digital and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) technology for accurate and efficient electronic/manual image and data storage, reporting, and distribution. It also involves problem-solving activities, clerical processes such as reception, responding to inquiries, filing and retrieving films and records, purging, transferring film libraries, courier services, transport, and other clerical functions. Patient care duties include assisting with radiographic exams, setting up rooms and equipment, and assisting patients. The role supports radiologists by acting as a resource person for the timely and effective use of services in both electronic and manual modalities. The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant III assists with the daily operations of the RIS, trains new staff on the system, and supports existing staff in everyday operations. Requirements

  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Office and/or radiological department work with responsibilities for helping coordinate services.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years' experience as DI Assistant or Electronic Imaging Assistant.
  • PACS or RIS experience.
