About The Position

Fuse builds innovative communications, networking, and computing solutions that improve the sharing of information, video, text, and voice among operators distributed throughout the airborne, maritime, and ground environments. We are a technology firm creating in-house software, network and hardware solutions that support our noble cause of advancing warfighter capabilities with elegant, user-focused communications, networks, and software systems. We’re looking for an experienced Senior DevSecOps - Linux ninja to help us build, ship, and secure world class, mission critical software deployed across a variety of platforms and environments. The ideal candidate will have RedHat Certifications (RHCE, RHCA, etc), deep hands-on low level Linux experience, and familiarity with DevSecOps practices.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a Linux Engineer or DevSecOps with deep Linux expertise
  • Experience with Initial RAM File System (Initramfs): dracut, custom modules, modifying existing modules
  • Experience with SELinux: understanding AVC denials, writing custom policies, custom file contexts, custom user contexts, policy modules
  • Experience with Network Manager: layer 2/3 networking, bridges, tunnels, etc.
  • Experience with Package Management: air-gap repositories
  • Experience with PXE Boot/Kickstart
  • Experience with Virtualization: KVM, libvirt, virt-install, qcow2/raw disks, overlays
  • Experience with the following: firewalld, aide, systemd, chronyd, rsyslog, DAR, Clevis/Tang, journalctl, grub, FIPS, auditd, PAM, authselect, systemd-creds
  • Exposure to cybersecurity principles: CVEs, CWEs, KEVs, STIGs, attack paths and mitigation techniques
  • Ability to obtain US Secret clearance
  • US Citizen

  • Experience in container hardening
  • Familiarity with dynamic application security testing and tooling
  • Understanding of Linux networking and network troubleshooting
  • Experience applying AI tools in CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with STIG compliance and security applications
  • Experience with Virtual Machine Management – vCenter/vSphere/ESXi
  • Experience in a programming language, such as C/C++, Java, python, etc.
  • B.S. in Computer Science, or engineering field (Software, Math, Physics, Electrical, etc.)
  • Active US Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain data communication networks, Linux operating systems, and physical and virtual servers
  • Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems
  • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
  • Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access.
  • Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses
  • May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software
  • Support functional and system level testing
