About The Position

Peraton is seeking an enthusiastic and talented senior DevSecOps engineer to build on ongoing modernization efforts for the US Navy with enabling microservices to be rapidly built, tested, fielded, and integrated to container orchestration platforms through heavy use of automation tools and processes. This hybrid support role (75% remote, 25% onsite at a government facility) in the San Diego area is for folks who like being close to the work—building pipelines, automating infrastructure, fixing what slows teams down, and adapting when a program needs something different. We work in small-to-mid size, diverse teams with clear ownership of tasking. Engineers are trusted in solving problems and aren’t waiting for permission to execute. U.S. Navy warfighters need your help to rapidly deliver cutting edge software solutions to the fleet for planning and executing missions for carrier strike groups conducting operations around the world. Mission planners need to collaborate in order plan for anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, ballistic missile defense, autonomous drone swarm information gain, and a wide range of other mission areas.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years’ experience with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA or 3 years with PhD
• Secret clearance or be able to obtain one
• U.S. citizenship
• Must have strong Kubernetes work experience
• Must live in the San Diego metro area
• CompTIA Security+ Certification or the ability to obtain it within 45 days of hire
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with: Containerization (e.g., Docker, Podman, Buildah)
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with: Container Orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm)
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with: CI/CD automation tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, AWS Code Build)
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with: Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with: Linux systems (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with: Automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell)

Nice To Haves

• Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field
• Demonstrated experience with Cloud computing infrastructure or development (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Demonstrated experience with Full stack software development (e.g., Java, Python, TypeScript, React, SQL)
• Demonstrated experience with Atlassian suite tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
