About The Position

INFUSE is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve its AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stack. The role bridges cloud engineering and software development across the product suite, including production LLM products and legacy systems requiring modernization. The engineer will lead the transition to EKS and GitHub Actions, enforce zero-trust security baselines, and mentor engineering teams. The position involves designing and operating secure AWS infrastructure, moving suitable workloads from EC2 to EKS, maintaining deployment workflows, and ensuring systems meet security standards. It also includes responsibility for monitoring, incident response, backups and restore testing, AWS cost control, infrastructure documentation and modernization, production-readiness reviews, and collaboration with internal teams and contractors.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of DevOps or SRE experience, including a proven background operating mission-critical production environments.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience running AWS at scale.
  • Expert proficiency with Terraform and high proficiency with Ansible.
  • Experience designing production workflows with GitHub Actions.
  • Strong production experience with Docker and Kubernetes, specifically managed AWS EKS and Helm.
  • Hands-on experience with platform hardening, zero-trust patterns, automated secrets management, system patching, and Cloudflare WAF/proxy configuration.
  • Comfort with on-call rotations, incident response, and verified backup restore drills.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Deep fluency in Linux administration, Bash, and Python scripting.
  • Ability to manage, document, and standardize work across internal teams and external contractor groups.
  • Daily experience using modern AI developer tools and agents to accelerate engineering output.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Kafka (MSK), Jenkins, ClickHouse, Backstage, Sentry, Langfuse, SonarQube, Trivy, or gitleaks.
  • Experience with Cloudflare Zero Trust or AIOps.
  • Experience leading a small DevOps team.
  • AWS or CKA certifications.
  • Experience supporting Node.js and Python microservices with PostgreSQL and Redis.
  • Experience supporting WordPress, Nginx, PHP-FPM, and MySQL web stacks behind Cloudflare.
  • Practical experience setting up and maintaining Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry pipelines.
  • Experience with Claude Code, which is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate secure AWS infrastructure using EC2 with Docker Compose and EKS, Terraform, and Ansible; move suitable workloads from EC2 to EKS.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions and migrate remaining Jenkins jobs to GitHub Actions.
  • Maintain security baselines for new and existing services, including Cloudflare proxy with WAF and rate limiting, origins accessible only through Cloudflare, SSM access, no public SSH, least-privilege IAM, secrets rotation, regular patching and rebuilds, and containers that do not run as root.
  • Own monitoring, alerting, and logs using Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Sentry; participate in on-call, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
  • Own backups and conduct regular restore tests.
  • Control AWS costs through tagging, rightsizing, removing unused resources, and estimating costs for new projects.
  • Regularly review infrastructure, identify risks and waste, and propose plans proactively.
  • Take over undocumented infrastructure or infrastructure run by contractors, document it, and bring it under infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and company standards.
  • Join new projects at kickoff to review hosting designs, estimate costs, and prepare infrastructure for production-readiness reviews.
  • Work with internal teams and contractors, establish and enforce standards, and mentor other engineers.

Benefits

  • Fully remote work format.
  • Paid time off and sick leave.
  • Reduced working hours on Fridays during the summer.
  • Days off on US national holidays and the employee's birthday.
