Senior DevOps Engineer
About The Position
Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure tooling for SAP Sovereign Cloud operations, partnering with product owners, architects, security engineers, and programme managers. The role includes developing proofs of concept and integrating tooling into production, automating cloud delivery workflows and large-scale provisioning through Infrastructure as Code, resolving complex infrastructure issues, mentoring junior engineers, and helping establish technical standards with security and architecture teams. The position offers independent ownership of engineering challenges and an opportunity to shape the programme’s technical direction. It involves up to 10% travel.
Requirements
- Deep proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform and Ansible.
- Strong or solid knowledge of AWS, GCP, Azure, and OpenStack.
- Expertise in Kubernetes, including experience converting or containerising workloads from virtual machines.
- Experience with scripting languages and cloud automation pipelines.
- A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Willingness to undergo a governmental security clearance process.
- Comfort using AI tools, including agentic AI, in day-to-day work; tasks include creating effective inputs, automating routine tasks, evaluating AI-generated outputs, and promoting AI practices within teams.
- Ability to build trust, communicate clearly, keep customers at the centre of work, and bring emotional intelligence and problem-solving ability.
