About The Position

Intelex is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer for a hands-on senior individual contributor role building and evolving cloud platforms that support business-critical environmental, health, safety, and quality solutions. The engineer will influence how teams build, deploy, observe, secure, and operate software at scale, with work spanning AWS and Azure, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, security, and reliability. The role partners with engineering, SRE, security, data, architecture, and FinOps stakeholders to improve deployment velocity, platform resilience, operational efficiency, and safe software delivery. The engineer will design and evolve internal developer platforms, paved paths, reusable Terraform modules, deployment patterns, golden pipelines, and self-service capabilities. They will operate and improve production environments across AWS and Azure, including Kubernetes workloads on EKS and AKS; build secure and repeatable CI/CD workflows; and strengthen monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and operational readiness. The role also includes troubleshooting production issues, root-cause analysis, reducing operational toil, mentoring engineers, participating in design reviews, and establishing reusable engineering standards. This is a remote role based in Brazil within a distributed engineering environment. It requires meaningful overlap with the core engineering team and participation in scheduled on-call rotations when required.

Requirements

  • Significant hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or a related discipline, including ownership of highly available production environments; approximately 8 or more years is a helpful benchmark.
  • Strong production experience with AWS and/or Azure, including cloud networking, identity and access management, secrets, certificates, security, scalability, and resilient architecture.
  • Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code, including reusable modules, environment provisioning, remote state, CI/CD integration, automated validation, security controls, and drift management.
  • Production experience with CI/CD, containers, and Kubernetes, using technologies such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, EKS, AKS, Helm, Argo CD, Flux, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong automation and operational engineering capabilities, including scripting with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or equivalent.
  • Ability to take ownership of complex technical problems and troubleshoot across applications, infrastructure, networking, deployment pipelines, and cloud services.
  • Ability to balance reliability, security, developer experience, scalability, and cost in engineering decisions.
  • Clear English communication and effective collaboration in distributed, cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to share knowledge, mentor other engineers, document solutions, and help establish technical standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Octopus Deploy, Kustomize, Karpenter, Backstage, OpenTelemetry, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, C#/.NET, service mesh, chaos engineering, or AI-assisted DevOps tooling.
  • Building internal developer platforms, developer portals, or Golden Paths.
  • Experience with large-scale Kubernetes environments and advanced Kubernetes tooling.
  • Experience with multi-account AWS or multi-subscription Azure architectures.
  • Experience with GitOps and progressive delivery.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, or advanced observability.
  • Experience with SLOs, error budgets, incident management, and reliability engineering.
  • Experience with multi-region architectures, disaster recovery, and chaos or resilience testing.
  • Experience with cloud FinOps, rightsizing, tagging, autoscaling, and cost governance.
  • Experience modernizing Windows/IIS or other legacy enterprise workloads to cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with AIOps or AI-assisted tooling for operations, troubleshooting, or developer productivity.
  • Experience in C#/.NET enterprise application environments.
  • Portuguese language skills for collaboration in Brazil.

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve internal developer platforms, paved paths, reusable Terraform modules, deployment patterns, golden pipelines, and self-service capabilities.
  • Design, operate, and continuously improve production cloud environments across AWS and Azure, including Kubernetes workloads on EKS and AKS.
  • Automate and improve infrastructure availability, scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Build secure, repeatable CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and related tooling.
  • Implement automated testing, policy controls, artifact management, GitOps, and rolling, blue/green, or canary deployment approaches.
  • Improve monitoring, metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, SLOs, incident response, disaster recovery, and operational readiness.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues, lead root-cause analysis, reduce operational toil, and automate recurring remediation.
  • Partner with development, SRE, security, data, architecture, and FinOps stakeholders on cloud architecture, DevSecOps, operational practices, cost optimization, and resilience.
  • Mentor engineers, contribute to design reviews, and help establish reusable engineering standards.
  • Collaborate across distributed teams and time zones, with meaningful overlap with the core engineering team and participation in scheduled on-call rotations when required.
